At halftime, I had seen enough. It not matter to me how the second half played out. I knew they were legitmately as good as I thought, but was skeptical considering the competition so far (save AL)

If you watched us yesterday and aren’t delighted with where we are at the end of November with zero starters and only two guys on the team having returned then I can’t help you.

And I’ll register further satisfaction that the arched “Illini” football helmet logo has infiltrated our basketball HC’s game day wardrobe.

What a time to be alive.

I understand that perfection is the goal, but finding flaws in KJ's game is kinda like saying Pru's neighbor ladies aren't great cooks. KJ probably wasn't looking for his shots enough the first few games, but Brad has fixed that. He's like having a coach on the floor the way he adapts his game every game.

I think that is exactly what Tre White is doing, plus 13-14 on FT. I like Ty a lot. But, I can;t agree with this.

I think that sometiomes it's the other players that aren't on the same page as him. He's already read ahead.

Yeah, I noticed that he seems to be getting more minutes in the last few games: 14 against UMES and 9 against Little Rock. Sure, they were blowout games, but he is getting more than Booth now. And I think he was substituted into the game in the first half of at least one of those games. Maybe he has been impressing BU in practice.

Arkansas apparently didn't know how to defend our P&R in thus early season. By Jan people will focus on that and we will need to adjust.

It is a rare thing to see a player at his size and age who can understand and manipulate time and space on a basketball floor the way he does.

Will Riley has the standard issue NBA first round draft pick toolkit just in terms of his style and his strengths. We see 10 of him every year. KJ's don't come around very often.

We don't really have the big, versatile wing this year who can lockdown (especially now that Ty's gone). Gonna have to figure that out.

On the positive side, don't think we'll have much of a concern this year about big guys going off in the post night in and night out. Better this year than leaving Coleman 1 on 1.

Yes, agreed, and I wasn't saying one way or another about officiating as the overall FT disparity was only 5. Just pointing out he could've had a couple more attempts. He was taking into the teeth of the defense and forcing the officials to make calls (which we also all know how hard it is to draw an offensive foul now with the rule change(s)).

Unless he’s posting from a script handed to him by an angry orange clad kidnapper.
In which case I hope the Gritty family has enough bitcoin to secure his release.

Honestly though, PnR is more of a staple thing that teams might adjust to in-game a bit, rather than something that we'd ever just ditch. Every player on the floor can pop out and shoot, so there's also never going to be a scenario where teams can just hard hedge or trap the PnR.
