I’ve been saying it all year … Ty Rodgers is going to be a PROBLEM in this league …

He gets a jumper … He’s unstoppable … Both ends of the floor .. Elite rebounder … Elite teammate …

I had an NBA scout text me tonight and said “If the Rodgers kid had a jump shot. He’d be a lottery guy for us. We think he’s that good in all other areas.”

He is the X Factor for this team going forward IMO …
I have to say it is truly amazing how much he's grown within the season. Just an incredible leap for a freshman in season, and something that is very rare to see. And really I think this should be a lesson to the posters we have on here who rag on our freshmen. Being a freshman is extremely difficult as the jump from high school ball to college ball is a gigantic one, and in the B10, this is especially true as every year since I've been born B10 seniors start licking their chops when they see a freshman across from them and spend all game stealing their lunch money. It is the very rare few who can come in as a freshman and actually have success in B10 play. This year we have an incredible class of freshmen, ones that I am confident in saying that if they stay, that is one hell of a core that will drive the Illini far in postseason play in a couple years. And Ty, he's the real deal. Most natural rebounder I've seen since Rodman. He's already winning battles now 1v2, another offseason with Fletch and good lord, I'm not sure how opponents will keep him off the boards without absolutely mauling him. If he can become a more consistent free throw shooter he will dominate at the 4 at the college level. If he eventually develops a jumper, he's definitely a lottery pick.

Overall major tip of the cap to our evaluators of high school talent. They hit it out of the park this year. And really glad that Ty, once he got used to the speed and physicality of college ball, was not only able to show off his natural talents, but that he had a coach willing to give him the opportunity to do so.

Anyone else notice that Coleman didn't participate in senior night? I'm over projecting here, but does that mean that he thinks coming back for another year is a real possibility?! I would love to see him add consistency to his game so that every night is like tonight, but damn, would love to see him go for the NBA this year!

I want him in the NBA for him and for our future recruiting. But, I’d also love to selfishly have him back next year to make is way better.

He did, but as much as we hate on him HD is a pretty darn good offensive player. CH can also switch onto smaller players without there being a huge mismatch in Michigan's favor, unlike DD. Dain also struggles with passing out and gets ahead of himself and fumbles the ball a lot if he doesn't get it deep in the post.
Anybody have Dain's plus/minus for the game? My feeling was that he was on the plus side...

You look at Epps, RJ and Rogers in 2 to 3 yearrs and they arre going to be BEASTS
If we can find a centerr similar to Hunterr Dickinson things will bee golden
Dickinson may be hard to likee personally, but one has to respect his game..
There is no chance Rodgers is here in 3 years and a good chance he won't be here in 2.

Could have been ESPN compared to other networks, but that’s the loudest it’s sounded on TV since the good ole days, IMO!
I could tell they were adjusting the crowd noise because it was so loud. The announcers were commenting about how loud it was and then you could hear TV coverage turn down the background noise. Electric in the house of Paign! Hope we had more than Morez there watching for recruiting.

What an exciting game. I have been down on BU this season, but I thought the game plan tonight was really solid. My notes from the game....

- best crowd I've seen in quite some time
- Great to see RJ have a strong second half and play with confidence
- UM is the most talented team in the Big 10 - Bufkin, Howard and Dickinson are all studs
- Rodgers is just a pleasure to watch play the game. i compared him to Rodman earlier in the year; I'm amending the comparison to Draymond Green
- Even when he doesn't score Hawkins does things to impact the game. He will do well at the next level
- I've never had a love/hate relationship with a player like I have with Mayer. He makes plays and looks like an NBA prospect one minute, the next he starts playing hero ball and jacking up multiple contested 3's

This guy deserves another cameo after this win!
It seemed after RJs baseline jam, the camera panned over to Krush looking for this kid...

Did you not see our free throw percentage plus his liability on defense
He is going to get better and better but that one free throw late in the first half where he seemingly tried to throw the ball through the front of the rim drew audible "What the?" from everyone around us in the crowd. It had no visible arc.

Interesting that when Brad was talking about Jayden he said that it was "scary" and they were "relieved to see that it was a concussion". Sometimes head trauma can induce a seizure so it makes me wonder if something like that happened. Either way, wishing him a quick recovery

I had a similar thought- either a seizure or a delayed collapse ala Damar Hamlin.

Rodgers HAS to develop an offensive game to leave early. Everyone talked about the need for Ayo to get better at shooting the 3 and he did. But, Ayo had good touch already. Rodgers doesn’t have that yet. It’ll be a tougher road for him. There’s a lot more to shooting well than just good form.

The Mayer flop call was ridiculous. Then Jett hits the tying 3 at the end of regulation and actually does flop without a whistle. The refs tried their best to push Michigan into the tourney.
Not to mention the and 1 for Bufkin in double OT was the exact same play that was called a flop on Mayer. I’m sure Juwan is right and there were a couple of calls that went our way but refs clearly favoring Michigan down the stretch when they needed it. Doesn’t matter. Still won.

In NBA terms, Rodgers is a better athlete than Ayo right now, let alone comparing them at age 19.

He is like a more athletic Charles Barkley
Don't get me wrong, I have been enamored with Ty since the early part of the season...even though he made a fair share of mistakes and lots of misses, he showed another gear. That said, Barkley was an athletic freak. I suspect that you stated that tongue in cheek...didn't see the emoji though. ;-)
