God help me if it's an Auburn-Duke final this year. I may well end up rooting for Duke and I NEVER thought I'd write those words. Cannot live with a Pearl championship.
Classic type of game.

I love Jake Davis.

I want all of you to love him too.
He just really seems to make the right decisions on offense, and does it quickly. He knows when to shoot, and when to pass. He truly does well at the .5 basketball thing. He gets it, makes a decision, then does the next correct action. I think he struggles a bit on the defensive end, but he gives full effort.

I like the kid a lot.

1. Indiana - Knight, Gordon and Sampson, duh.
2. Mizzou - the worst fanbase.
3a. Iowa - might drop to 4 when Fran "retires", won't ever leave the top 5 thanks to Pearl.
3b. Michigan - was higher under Juwan.
5. Northwestern - Chicago's big ten school, beat us more than they should.

Maybe it’s just me but I find having schools that don’t reciprocate even remotely the same emotions towards us on the hate list is low-key a little cringe if not embarrassing. The most notable example is having Duke on the list. I don’t think Illinois would even crack top 50 on Duke fans’ hate list. Imagine if a fan from one of the “directional” Illinois schools tells us we are their most hated program, my first thought would be “awww good for you”

That’s why Iowa, Indiana and Missouri are much more deserving of the top spots.

Absolutely are the 2 best all around teams, but remember Clyde the Glide Drexler and Olajuwon? That Houston team was unbeatable, or so we thought! Would argue both were as good or better than Cooper. Finished the season with an L! Always take the field!

When you look back at NCAA tournament history since 1979 (so 45 years), two number one seeds have faced off for the national title 10 times. So while that's a fairly high amount, it's still just a little less than 1/4 of the time. So that means over 3/4 of the time, at least one seed lower than a 1 has made the title game.

In my opinion, there is not one overly dominant team in the field this year. While Duke and Auburn have to be considered the top two teams, I think the odds of that matchup would be significantly higher (i.e. better payout) than the pre-tournament odds for a Purdue-UConn title game would have been at the start of last year's tournament.

In other words, over time higher seeds do have a higher probability of making later rounds. But there is enough parity this year where I think matchups, injuries, and just plain luck will likely have a larger say in some of the results this year compared to what we saw last year.

Guess I am the only person who has perdoo on their short list. While I respect the job the coach ans students do, I hate losing to the boilermakers. Frankenedey, flopper lover, the Amish point guard, all in all a team I love to hate.
Same. Purdue is #1 on my list right now. Especially with this current group of guys.

I can’t hate ‘em. My tuition goes there and my son loves it. However, I am totally on board with you on Loyer. Hate watching him flop on EVERY point of contact. The dude has no muscle definition and falls over when Mackey’s furnace fans blow on ‘em. My son sees him on campus and says he doesn’t really look like an athlete at all.

Can you image what Fletch thinks when he looks at ‘em?

It’s a shame Brad lost the locker room
I know this is a jab at some Negative Nancy's here......
I don't know about losing locker room but team has obviously regressed from first half of season. Injuries, etc have impacted and we had a severe confidence issues leading to and through the Duke game

This board is a fickle crowd and success will always change the hearts of a passionate fan base.

the Iowa and Mich game have given the Team a little bit of our old swagger...including our rising young coaching staff.

Let's keep that going... ILL..

This team still has high ceiling. To reach it we will have to

1. Get Morez back
2. Shoot at least 30% 3pg%
3. Play good defense like in Missouri, Oregon, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan games
4. Outrebound our opponents by +10
5. Limit stupid/sloppy turnovers

We have front court size - Tomas, Morez, Ben
We back court size - Kylan and KJ
We have great 1 on 1 players - Will
We have good mid range player - Tre
We have defensive stopper - Kylan

We lack experience and have not played together - 4 freshman, 4 transfers.
Last year we had 5th year seniors - TSJ, Marcus, Quincy, Justin and 4th year senior Coleman. We also don't have Dain on bench.

I’m late to this game (had a busy work week), but…my most hated teams…

1) Mizzou…maybe its because I’ve lived in St. Louis for 25 years, but their fans are just the worst, and I hate everything about their sports programs.

2a) Iowa - Iowa and Indiana go back and forth for me, but Iowa has been a bigger rival as of late, and they’ve just been generally more unlikeable.

2b) Indiana - I hated Crean with a passion, so they may have been 1 at times for me, but they’ve been so blah under Woodson…

Those 3 are in their own tier for me. The rest…vary year to year based on coaches, players, recent rivalry, etc. For whatever reason, I’ve never hated Michigan. It could be that one of my closest friends is a Michigan grad, and I've always respected him…but who knows. I've just always enjoyed that rivalry (especially as of late!), rather than hate them.

As many of you know, Bruce Pearl coached the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana, for a period of time. There is a Bruce Pearl drive on the west side of Evansville close to the movie theater complex.
Pearl did win big at Southern Indiana before going to Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he of course committed NCAA violations. Fun Fact: When he left USI, his associate head coach Rick Herdes took over. USI then was found to have committed major NCAA violations under Herdes. Hmmm. Could Pearl's success at USI have been tainted? Did Herdes suddenly learn how to cheat...or did he learn the ropes from a master?

If I were in charge of roads, I'd never fix a pothole on that road.

(Kidding, obviously - if it were my job, I'd do it. I just wouldn't like it.)
