Upon further review, after I stopped laughing, I printed this and posted it above my desk.

Another wonderful facet of this is Luke looking to his left with dawning alarm. The thought bubble above his head should read "Jebote ne."

Subtle brilliance. Props.

I'm not sure 'delusional' covers it. "Maybe #1"? Today? I'm not sure their brand was #1 at their peak, coming not that long after UCLA and Wooden's 10 in a row. 'Clinically insane' might be a closer descriptor.
The most I can say about them is that they ruled the Big Ten for the most part from the early '70s through the early '80s. Also are one of the storied programs because of Branch McCracken's long history of achievement there. Can't argue with the undisputed greatness of the '76, '81 and '87 teams. After that, apart from '93(?), it has been a long, slow descent into obscurity, with the occasional resurfacing of a top-tier BT team.

BT basketball in the '80s (including '78-'79) was fabulous, partly because IU couldn't dominate it anymore. Yeah, maybe not clinically insane but definitely displaying a tenuous connection to reality. Nothing like believing the mantle of your long-vanished empire still fits to distract you from the dumpster fire in your midst.

They really missed a window with Dusty May last year. Thank goodness.

BTW, the Inside The Hall commentariat were bit*hing about the fact that Humrichous wanted to play for IU, the coaching staff wouldn't even give him a look, and now he torches them. lol salty Hoosier tears.
I have nephew who is NBA scout and IU alum. He said the NBA has been tracking KJ for a while and he suggested  to IU assistant coach they should look at KJ. Woodson had no interest in KJ. ;););)

Please keep Woodson at IU as long as possible. He ranks up there with Juwon as worst B10 coach of year. Also keep in mind that fact next time somebody wants to bring back Illinois alum like Eddie Johson or Kendall Gill to coach the Illini. Ex NBA players with no college coaching experience have 99% failure rate in P4 college HC jobs.

Tomas is 3X the outside shooter than Coleman. I loved Coleman and the effort he gaves us over 4 years but there is no comparison talent wise and size wise between the two. Tomas will get drafted and be on an NBA roster due to his size, shooting ability, rebounding, shot blocking, passing and ball handling. Coleman does not have elite 3 point shot, not strong enough to defend and unfortunately too much of prima donna personality.

Seems like the relationship between wishing
Woodson and Indiana has gotten a little unpretty
still basking in the glow of embarrassing IU and now sprinting in some delightful TLC references. Happy Thursday everyone! Also, I completely agree w/what everyone else has said previously about Dakich. That guy is a real creep...and not on the down low.

BTW... (and this probably belongs in the 2025 football thread but you started it!) here in D.C. last evening my buddy at work and I finished a long day by going downstairs in our office building to the brew pub at ground level to watch the Kansas v. Iowa State game before heading home.
Man. I never had a brewpub downstairs from my office. I'm so jealous.
