Agreed. I think some fans just get off on ruminating about the biggest lineup possible.
We'll face better defenses as we have 5 games against ranked teams remaining in the regular season including two top 10 teams. But we need to penetrate and cut and that will open up the three for good looks. Like I've said all along, we have a good head coach and incredible talent, but we're young and this is the first year they've played together. Need to not chuck threes until we drive, cut and score, and need a true leader to emerge. Back on track! ILL...
So much better of an offense. I hope this is the way they play going forward. Shoot 3s off of penetration and a lot of the give and go!

One of Ben's better games, but him getting 32 minutes, Tomi 31 minutes (on a bad ankle) and Jake Davis getting 15 while Morez gets 14 minutes hurts my head.
Morez brings things like toughness and rebounding no one else can bring inside. Some overlap with Ben and Davis. BU thinks Morez's magic number is 14 minutes.
It’s just one game vs a lackluster opponent, but the WAY the team played on offense with attacking the paint first, then only kicking for 3 if needed is what it should look like.

All I know is there was more than one poster in the Rutgers postgame thread that said they were through watching the Illini play this season. Those rock steady fans missed a very good performance.

Cmon. Great win yes, but 73% shooting in 2nd half is not going to be an every night thing, by any team.
He's playing really well, going to be a really interesting thing to track. Truly will probably be a declare and depends if he gets a top 20 guarentee. I still think he will be back

The first game in along time to see KJ play with pace and attack the rim with abandon...........He definitely looked the part of a lottery pick tonight........I caught my breath when he got mugged in the paint and fell hard on his back.....Thank the Ancients there seems to be no damage.........He really really is our Alpha Male when he plays like he did tonight.......
The same can be said for the frisky colt named Will Riley.....He looks like a new born colt on roller skates sometimes but he was on a heater and the layup he made when he faked his defender out of his jock was pure elite talent.......
Tomi playing with coach just saying his ankle was the color of a red wine AND getting a double double says it all about his heart and soul........very impressive Tomi......It really really is.........
Ben played great D on Garcia and held him way below his ppg average.......
Jake D with a 3 and a couple putbacks was great to see.......
Boswell had a good game and BU said they kept him out most of the second half because of a minor injury concern.....
DGL and Tre tried to play but are still affected by the flu bug......
Rezilla is a beast down low but fouls limited him again.......

Yeah, didn't mean the shooting percentage. I meant not shooting so many threes, moving constantly without the ball, cutting to the basket, and finding the open man out of double-teams. What we aren't is an elite shooting team. What we are is an elite facilitating team. We have elite passers all over the court. Running an offense that emphasizes that is the way to go. Though, yeah, the fundamentals of this offense will likely yield higher shooting percentages across the board.

Yea but Morez had 4 fouls real early into the 2nd. These are the kind of games you can really hammer home that you don’t stay on the floor if you get in foul trouble. If Tomi couldn’t have gone today this game would have been real trouble with those same fouls, fair or not.

So proud of the low TO’s. We ran the offense, rebounded and didn’t beat ourselves…for a change. Minn isn’t the best team but they beat Michigan and Oregon so no pushover either.
