My only concern is the lack of playing time for Dani Dainja. I do see him potentially transferring out
He struggled tonight. The thing with this team is if you're struggling, we have the depth to put someone else in. I like Dain but this wasn't his night. As for a possible transfer, it wouldn't seem surprising to me, but that's a next year issue and we're still early in this year. Plus, Dain will have to be playing well enough to keep Amani and Morez off the court next year, and that looks like it's going to be a hell of a task. Overall though, just relax and enjoy the moment :)

Actually they said Wisconsin is the second best team and we MIGHT be the third best team. Goodman is the absolute worst.

If y'all want to get fired up, start at 24:16...

We were all wondering if this dude was an FAU beat guy after the Inquirer podcast episode... but this is just on another level in crazy.
They’re prolly more worried about how many minutes Gibbs-Lawborn and Dain are playing.. even tho Xavier booker isn’t playing at all, Fears is barely playing. They never talk about that. We had one bad year of a toxic locker room and they act like it’s an every year thing. Maybe two years with Curbelo

Clearly they utilized their long break time well! They must have practiced free throws too!
I don't think that they practices free throws any more than normal. What you're seeing is it's the right guys shooting them late in games. That's awareness by BU to have the right guys in the game and it's awareness by the guys on the floor on where the ball needs to be. That's growth and guys finding their roles, which is a good thing, but takes time.

I'll put my hand up as one of the biggest skeptics on this board regarding this team prior to this season. I'm ecstatic to have been proven wrong about how good this group can possibly be. I'm not surprised that Shannon turned in such a performance on this stage, but I could have never imagined that Marcus Domask could perform like this against such a good FAU team. Over the moon about this win.

As far as nitpicking what could improve, it's pretty hard to do that after a 9 point win over essentially a top 10 team. Since plenty are playing that game, I'll give it a try. What jumps out in the stat line to me are 10 assists and 14 turnovers. As the season advances, I'd love to see those numbers improve, which to me would help ensure that we can compete with any team.
Difficult to get many assists when you're offense is just Domask repeatedly backing down his defender and scoring.

FAU never made an adjustment to stop him or sent help to the point where it would create open looks for someone else.

We JUST played FAU and we haven't played Tennessee yet. Our schedule gets harder, but it hadn't really been hard to date.

KenPom has us a star #309 team in terms of NCSOS.
I'd think that would stabling a bit after the Tennessee, Missouri and probably even Colgate (???) games? The issue with our schedule was that the patsies that we played aren't bad. They're brutally bad.

Sidenote to all the Marcus and Shannon talk but I've been incredibly pleasantly surprised by how good Goode has looked defensively.

He's been staying in front of a lot of quick guards and has the length to challenge shots a bit.

I expected him to be a shooter that would kind of be a liability defensively but he's been very solid.

Ok, skimming through the stats, they beat us on the boards and had 23 assists on 31 buckets. We only had 10 assists on 36 buckets. Turnovers a wash. Both teams with 18 free throws. They had 7 steals, we had 4.

So, since I didn't see it, how did we win, lol?
We had two guys go off for 30+ and they didn't need to get set up. That's tough to withstand for any team. Now, is the sustainable? Probably not. Did it work for one night? Yes and I'll take it.

Agree and I am also pleasantly surprised. I expected Goode to be a strong, disruptive, intense defender last year. Earlier this year, he was not moving his feat and getting out of position rather quickly. Now, I see him moving his feet more quickly, a pleasant and unexpected surprise, and getting in good position most of the time. Great for him!!!

I just watched the “highlights” which included Coleman missing 4 threes! Man we can be good if he doesn’t force it and plays his role of defense, rebounding and facilitating
He also hit the biggest one of the game. I'm not sure why you took a dig at him? That game was going in the wrong direction before that shot. One could argue that it was the defining moment in the entire 40 minutes. "Maybe we can be good"? You're making silly comments just to get a reaction. Stop.

Is ESPN not allowed to complement the B1G anymore? Sportscenter coverage is 80% what does it mean for FAU and 20% good job Shannon and Domask. Used to enjoy sportscenter
At the end of the day, ESPN's job is to get ratings. Major conference teams(unless it's the blue bloods) don't drive those ratings. FAU was THE Cinderella story last year. Heck, they got into the Jimmy V game based on last year's tournament alone. Who doesn't root for the "little guy". If they weren't playing us, I would have been in FAU's corner. What makes the tournament so much fun, especially the first day of it? It's the upsets. So, while FAU is ranked highly and highly thought of....it's still FAU and they'll continue to the the story, until that story runs out of steam, which will be when they get into conference play. They'll probably run the table(or come close to), they'll win 30+ games, but rarely will they get more than the standard top 25 highlight.
