TSJ and the Doc put on a show tonight for the nation to understand we are coming for the hardware this year.............BU coached a great game and the staff had a great game plan for this # 11 ranked opponent...............
This win has me giddy with excitement and allowed me to overcome my pain.........this game HAS to be an Illini Classic as we did everything right tonight.........I will be interested to hear the FAU coaches presser........I know I will enjoy BU's.............
I don't have a lot of energy left as today has been a trying day , but this effort by the beloved cures it all for me.......I'm gonna make this post a short one as I need to kick back and savor this win....................

Bye bye Big Apple............glad you got to see us........I really really am......................
Take a breath, though I like you're attitude.I'm getting some 2004-2005 vibes.
They're athletic and can shoot. They just had major size problems with Illinois playing Domask and Shannon as guards.FAU more than looked the part to me. I don't care at all about their loss to Bryant. Those types of games where the ball just doesn't go in happens even to the best of them. Those kids don't quit and are well coached. I could see them making another deep run in the tourney.
A brave and brilliant move by Brad to tell a 1600pt career scorer to be more aggressive offensively. Elite coachingUnderwood pushing Domask to be more aggressive offensively indicates he might know a little bit about coaching.
Telling him to do it is one thing. Getting him comfortable and willing to do it is another. That's the coaching part.A brave and brilliant move by Brad to tell a 1600pt career scorer to be more aggressive offensively. Elite coaching
Lol, I called my dad (He is in his 80's , I watched Bird with him in my youth) and joked about the comparison. MD needs to talk way more smack if he is going to be compared to Larry Legend! Was I the only one holding my breath the 2nd half waiting for FAU to catch up? I thought Marcus Domask was the 2nd coming of Larry Bird. I remember Bird backing people down and everyone wondering how the guy scored so may points. And of course TSJ just keeps doing TSJ things! What a performance by the Illini!
Excited for what is to come, but the sky is the limit for our team. We finally have crazy good depth. My Cubs did it in 2016....can my Illini do it in 2024?

A little different level scoring against P5 schools.A brave and brilliant move by Brad to tell a 1600pt career scorer to be more aggressive offensively. Elite coaching
AltenbergerI lived in Cleveland for many years watching Mark Price way back when.
Domask's game does remind me a lot of Price's and that's a GOOD THING!
He hasn't been here every game. He is our second best offensive player and makes everyone better. He needs to shoot it a lot.A brave and brilliant move by Brad to tell a 1600pt career scorer to be more aggressive offensively. Elite coaching
Get old, stay old. Seniors get the job done. Including making free throws when it matters most.
They do not play defense, I was shocked they had no press on us! Strange, I'll take it and I'll take Cohawks great Defense on a huge man. Plus, his most important shot of the night the open 3. He may have finished 1-5 from 3, but baby it was huge! They're athletic and can shoot. They just had major size problems with Illinois playing Domask and Shannon as guards.
Most teams don't have the kind of size and length 1-5 that Illinois does(though BYU is close and can shoot).
The more he plays he reminds me more and more like Thunder Dan MarjeleI lived in Cleveland for many years watching Mark Price way back when.

Also taller which really showed tonight
I mean he also put up 17 on the road at Rutgers who are the 13th ranked defense on kenpom.A little different level scoring against P5 schools.
I'd be all about this in the mid 2000's.
