Illinois 98, Nebraska 87 Postgame

Nebraska was up 55-40 with 18:00 left in the game. From that point, it was all us. We finished the game on a 58-32 run.

TSJ was not going to accept defeat. Not on this day. We need this kind of mentality in the NCAAs.

Shout out to Luke Goode. He passed up an open one but man did he come up with some winning plays for us down the stretch. 12 pts, 6 rebounds.

Well I watched the first half. Missed the start of the second half. Dinner time. Afterwards I tried to keep an eye on the game while I was playing with my grandson and tug with the dog.
I guess distracted watching is enough.

I was at baseball practice watching with a bad Hulu in the second half. What were the adjustments or did our shot just go in and theirs cooled off
Huskers cooled off because after basically standing around on defense in the first half, the Illini made them work for nearly every shot, limited them to 1 shot per possession, and even were able to get some steals by jumping passes. TSJ carried us offensively for the first few minutes of the half before Quincy finally decided to use his size to pound it inside instead of chucking 3s, Domask got some shots to fall, and most importantly Goode hit some huge 3s, including the one that gave us the lead for Good(e).

Dain yesterday and LG today. I knew we needed to keep LG within the flow because of his potential to hit big three-pointers and outhustle the opponent.

I will admit: I did give up on Dain. He needs to stay next year, and hopefully, he can develop more under this staff: i.e., 15 footers and better FTs.

Anyone know if there will be a replay anywhere? Had family obligations, unfortunately. I know on Youtube, they do show highlights, but I was hoping I'd see the whole game.

Ok, so I didn't have a drink for the first half so I am responsible for that performance. I changed that strategy for the second half and, well, it worked much better. I will start drinking in the pre-game tomorrow. You're welcome.

P.S. This was an awesome game and I am looking forward to several more this year.
