Sounds like possible. At least the ones who live in of campus apartments
Classes start Monday, dorms have been open since Wednesday. I reckon that the break/non-break discrepancy is much less at Mackey than SFC given the attention to hoops throughout Indiana and the fact that Indy is much closer to WL than Chicago is to C-U.

Stay out of foul trouble. Need solid, quality production from Dain. CHawk continue what you been doing, just don’t go back to having hissy fits on every ticky tack foul or play that does not go your way.
This game is definitely winnable.

Haha. Trust me, I'll pulling for us. Perhaps my prediction was tooooo dark as I took off my orange tinted glasses. We just won't win them all. Now, if we get Smith in foul trouble, keep them off the foul line, and take care of the ball, we just may shock the world! (But we won't be shocked!) 😉
I kid. There's plenty of room for realistic takes which, for the record, I tend to lean into.

I'm just here to have fun, make snarky comments (gasp!), and post mediocre gifs - or jifs as @skyIdub might call them. 👀

Again? Edey guarded Ty on exactly zero possessions in last year's game in WL. Where is everyone getting this idea that Edey is going to check our quickest/fastest guard (TSJ not playing, so this is Ty now)? The only way they put Edey on Ty is if Painter is trying to throw the game.

There's a condensed version of last year's game in WL on Youtube. I just watched it and in the 2nd half when we made our comeback, we threw tons of double & triple teams at Edey and it was really pretty effective. Granted, it was necessary since we got down by 20+ points, but makes me wonder if we might see more of that than what I originally thought.

I'm re-watching last year's game, and Edey was guarding Ty on at last one possession early in the game. It was drop coverage, so not super obvious, but that was definitely the matchup until Ty ran a dribble handoff to TSJ.

Ok, so one possession then. I didnt catch it though, so what minute/second mark was this? Ty played a lot of forward last year so it's possible Edey just had to pick him up on one trip down the floor.

Regardless, Edey is not going to be guarding our primary ball handler and quickest guard (at least, not on purpose). That was the point of the original post I responded to.

Are the students back
School is not back in session, but, I believe the way they do the student tickets on break, is that they do not sell "out of session" games as part of the student season ticket, but when they open those seats up to the public, the students get first opportunity to buy them before the general public so, I would expect a good amount of students to be in attendance.

Could be - I'm just watching bits and pieces today so I'll keep an eye out if there are others. This one was around 15:30 left in the first half.

And you're absolutely right, Ty last year was in a very different role than this year, which will impact defensive alignment.

Come again? Then watch the second half when we take Dainja out. Ty becomes an all time screener with Edey on him.

(follow up on last reply)

Edey also guarded Ty a lot in the 2H. From 15:00-12:00 and again for about the last 6 minutes of the game. Definitely not an isolated thing — basically any time Edey was in, Ty was in, and Dain was out, Edey was guarding Ty.

Key question will be, does this stay the same now that Ty is a primary ballhandler? There was one play where Edey was on CoHawk and bit hard on a pump fake three, leading to a nice assist after dribble drive.

Keep in mind I'm not talking about when Edey gets left on him because drop coverage or a bad switch. They're not going to have Edey guarding Ty bringing the ball up and they're also not going to start Edey out 2 feet above the free throw line or at the extended elbow on every possession.

Perhaps I took the original comment too literally (or not literally enough, depending on how you look at it).

I am sure Purdue basketball staff is watching last 2 Illini games film . Our offense and defense are very different than last year.

Our 3 point shooting has become dangerous with Quincy, Justin and Luke.

Our defense can switch on every pick unless Dain is in. Last year people could pick on Jayden, Skyy and Matthew. Only person who struggles this year is Justin but he makes the effort

Marcus gives us nice inside threat that has been missing since Kofi left.

We pass much better with current players than last years team. This team is very unselfish.

Anybody know who “April” is on Twitter who’s having it out with Purdue fans about tonight’s game and myriad other things?
