Edey was on his own level last year but I felt that he got a big boost in the initial hype because of what he did for a team that no one was too high on to start the season. If Shannon leads the Illini to the peak of the standings the same could be said regarding this season as Illinois was respected to start the season but not viewed as a real contender by the national media.

I’m prepared for a loss. Just Don’t get blown out. We’re coming off a high and a hot shooting night and Tennessee has been taking some beatings so they’ll be ready at home. If i’m betting i’d take Tennessee -3.5 or whatever the line is going to be. But it’s ok, we’ve shown we’re pretty good. Unlike in football you don’t have to win every game.

I have a hard time seeing us win against a top 10ish team at home. Winning this game means that we should be around a top 5ish team. A bit too optimistic for me. I believe this team is a 10-15th ranked team thus far.

I am with you. Tennessee is tough at home. If we won this game I would be both shocked and ecstatic! I just hope we keep it close. With the veterans we have, you never know. I am more positive about this team than last year's squad.

On the other, I'm troubled by the poor feng shui this will create in the clash with Tennessee orange. Accordingly, I've now written off Friday afternoon and evening so I may locate a vintage early 1970s black-and-white TV set on which to watch the contest.
