Interesting. I just heard this weekend that he got it off. I stand corrected.

He tweeted a couple of days after the swish n dish, which is where the video was taken, that the boot was off.

Only 6 ppg, 31% from 3, and under 40% overall. What's he good at?

He's athletic and excels in transition, but Pitt never ran. I thought he was going to transfer to a lower tier school, but he had probably his best game of his career vs IU so that is probably what got him a second look from Crean. He's nowhere close to Yogi, but he has the physical tools to succeed in the B1G.

Keep in mind that that most of the players in that study were older, so combine injury with age and of course you're more likely to retire. It is a much tougher recovery compared to ACL injuries but that's all we can take from that study. Athleticism and explosion are necessary qualities for NBA players but you can get by without that at this level. I actually believe that Lewis is closer to Abrams' floor than his ceiling for this season based on what I've heard about his recovery so far.
Tracy was not highly athletic prior to the injuries. He was tough. He was a bulldog. He was a warrior. But if he loses half a step, that may be too much to overcome considering where he was. I can see some leadership and spot minutes from him. Anything more is a pipe dream imo.

A player, especially a point guard, is likely to change up his game after watching for two years from a different perspective. I don't expect the old Tracy, I expect a more cerebral player with still a lot more muscle than most point guards in the conference. I'm not sure what you mean by spot minutes, but he'll play more than 10 minutes game. I think a lot of people have been cautiously pessimistic about Tracy's return, which I understand given the bad news we've grown accustomed to, but I think people are too pessimistic because they view him as having 2 bad legs.. He should be fully recovered from his ACL injury though.

Michigan State's Deyonta Davis will declare for the 2016 NBA Draft and sign with an agent, per release.

My guess is Tom Izzo will be in the market for a grad transfer big man now.

Anyone know the rate of re-injury on Achilles injuries? I know ACL's are some of the highest risks, but how do Achilles compare?

#illini need to get stronger and healthier. Adam Fletcher is the man at the center of both goals this offseason.

Fletcher uses Mike LaTulip and Kipper Nichols as examples of what he can accomplish. Both sat out last season to redshirt. LaTulip, a walk-on who will transfer to play somewhere else for his final season, added strength and lowered his body fat.

Nichols arrived on Dec. 28 and had a max bench press of 205 pounds. He now can rep 195 pounds 16 times, weighs 227 pounds and has 4.6 percent body fat (that’s ripped).

“Kipper Nichols, what he’s done since Dec. 28 is special," Fletcher said. "He just does everything that you ask him to do, which is special. We’re starting to develop that culture throughout the team.”

I posted a long post regarding Kipper on another fan forum about a week ago. I had a conversation with an Ohio HS BB fan. Mentioned that Kipper is a tireless worker, very discipline athletes, carries himself like a pro. Video of him walking by JCL back in December is very impressive, kid really is built like Jimmy Butler now. If he has gotten bigger/stronger in 4 months that is pretty impressive.

That body fat # is likely too low. SFG Hunter Pence achieved a similarly low body fat number in 2014, his performance suffered. It resulted in increased cramping, fatigue and other performance reducing side effects. The giants S & C coach + the dieticians intervened, increased his body fat and his performance improved.

"(Pence) My body fat was too low. I was cramping," Pence said. "I was in great shape, but they didn't want my body fat to be that low, so I could withstand the work of a full day, the full season."

Playing in hot and humid environments has a big affect on cramping; traveling non stop takes toll on energy levels. A baseball and basketball body are different animals. Can't compare the two IMO.

In this instance the problem was isolated to a body fat # that was too low. Humidity and travel had nothing to do with the symptoms and reduced performance, as all symptoms abated and performance improved when body fat increased.

The body type needed for basketball or baseball have noting to do with the human body's fundamental need of fat to function properly. Obviously a body fat # that is too low can result in cramping, lack of energy, organ damage and disease regardless of whether the person/body is playing a sport or not. A body fat level under 5% can have health implications and body performance is likely to suffer b/c there isn't enough fat to burn. It's science. We disagree.

Way back when, Charles White, USC tailback, was reported to be 2% body fat, I have no idea if the tests are more accurate now, but that always blew my mind, even as a youth. Pun not intended, as he developed a cocaine habit as a pro.

Funny because Apolo Ohno's body fat was at 2% at the end of his training before the Olympics. Is it possible that maybe it could vary by the individual, and our S&C coach knows that?

For cramping the humidity does effect the body.

People also react differently to certain circumstances. Pence may thrive at 8-10% body fat, but Kipper doesn't. You have to trust and know your body.

I thrive indoors with beer at a 25% body fat rate but other may need that to be higher :D

I think Kipper is going to be a stud this coming year, he will make those small plays that may not be seen on a stat sheet but will make the difference in the game.

There he goes again, IamChrisFarley discussing body fat. :D
