is it just me or does it look like a couple is making out in the top right corner? And if so, there is a dude just standing right there next to them. Strange

So, forgive me if I'm, like, seeing that rendition on the first page incorrectly or something, but it looks like we're going all in on a Kinnick Stadium-type set up with four unattached seating blocs? I'm not opposed, we just need something that reaches higher on the SEZ so that it looks better than the current horseshoe.

If the scenic overlook of the ginormous Butkus statue doesn't create a romantic spark in you, I don't think you can call yourself a fan. I imagine she just accepted his proposal and the other dude filmed it.

I like the see-through dude in the foreground. He must be a ghost, but probably not the Galloping Ghost, because I believe the Galloping Ghost wears Bluetooth headphones.

JW is making it happen. This is a very visible sign that UI athletics are worth investing in. Now we just ask our top prospects to invest 4 years of their time.

I think it's insane we are getting this kind of money with how poorly football and presumably basketball are and will perform for the close future. This is about as rock bottom as the flagship programs have been at UI, any sort of previous scandals withheld. When I buy my next car, I want Josh to do my negotiating.

Guenther had no incentive to drum up fundraising any differently than he had his whole career, and his last 4 years were during the economic collapse so that was a recipe for disaster.

Thomas was not well liked, came in when the economy was still not doing great (doing well towards the end, but these uber rich people still weren't whole from the collapse yet), and immediately made 2 highly publicized poor hires in the main revenue sports. A different recipe, but definitely a disaster.

Whitman came in and made a splashy football hire, is a super smart guy, an alum (from a time a lot of these uber rich people where in their prime sports watching period), and the economy is humming. He's done an amazing job, this is how we should be doing!

Guenther had a plan.

Whitman has a vision.

Those 2 words, plan and vision, have absolutely nothing in common.

I have seen 7 athletic directors going back to my undergraduate days in the early 60s. By far, Josh Whitman inherited the worst dumpster fire in P5 athletics and what he has been done in that time is knee buckling. He has convinced people that have money and know money, that giving a lot of that money to the DIA is a good investment for the future. Based on where we were 3 years ago in our 2 revenue sports, that is impressive.

Josh will be the best of those 7.
