Hobbs' highlight tape is disgusting. That is easily one of the best tapes of anybody in this class. His stride is Adoree Jackson-esque. Obviously he isn't that level of talent, but how the heck is he only a two-star guy?? Fantastic athlete, I like this get a lot.

Hobbs is every bit a decent as Watkins....perhaps we can get him ready to play nickel or dime back??

Or can we move him to free safety and move Stan green to cb??

Hobbs can add depth at DB or be red shirted. Not every recruit is going to start. Someone will have to replace Dunlap in 2018. Watkins, Sumpter, Adams and Hobbs are a decent group of DBs to build on.

Really liking what Lovie and staff are doing for the first year coming off a short year and disappointing season. I really trust Lovie and the coordinators to put players in positions to succeed. :illinois::chief:

Hobbs is a real competitor and he'll do well. I love this pickup. Thanks Lovie.

On scout it says that WR Carmani Green is a soft verbal. I remember him being a big commitment at the time, we still good with him or is he most likely going elsewhere?

When he committed to us back in August he said he would continue to take official visits which is why he is classified as a soft verbal.

I don't know if we are still solid with him but we might get some clarity on the situation if Carney commits to us on Sunday.

Obviously to early to predict, I know, but who do you guys think the redshirts will be? I'm thinking Tony Adams (coming of a torn ACL), Cam Thomas (depth at position), Ra'von Bonner (depth at position), Kendall Smith (needs year to develop), and Marc Mondesir (needs year to develop).

Really like the way this class is setting up. Is looking to be a great foundation class on which to build upon going forward. Love the OL and WR kids and we aren't done there yet. It all starts up front and we need help there. Also need the playmakers and we seem to be drastically upgrading there, as well. Going forward is like to continue to load up at OL, add 3-4 more DL, grab another secondary player. Really exciting time.

Like most, I really like this pick-up of Hobbs. I think he's very underrated. Could see him turn out to be a great get by this staff. Love how this class is shaping up. Hopefully we can keep the ball rolling with Carney Sunday.

No I would stick with Green at fs. Your idea about nickel is good so is corner, he is exactly what we need.
Regarding Carney he is being report as solid as a rock or similar lines of thinking regarding his commitment.

According to east st louis head coach jeff thomas is down to mizzou, bama, and louisville.

This team needs an infusion of speed and it's getting some. I think we'll see a nice improvement on our kick / punt return teams. Shorter fields for the offense will really help them out. There's still good recruits in play out there. Speed kills. You can coach kids up and scheme all day but in the end speed will break you.

He also said the same thing the previous two times Jeff Thomas left Mizzou off his list. It's bs. ESL is Mizzouland and the HC doesn't want to accept that is changing.
