Awesome news. For any stat heads out there, in our previous classes is there a rule of thumb for percentage of a class that flips by/on signing day?

past performance is not indicative of future returns

I don't think you can generalize those things. Out of 22-25 recuits , yea we could lose 1 or 2 and gain 1 or 2. But I do think that with a new regime with the established guys of Lovie, Nickerson and McGee in charge, we may be better insulated from that than a lot of schools .

It will really help a lot too if we can get to 6-6 or better and go bowling.

Especially for something like that. Players de-commit for a myriad of reasons.

Anytime you have a class of 25+ 17-18 year old kids, it's no surprise when a few of them change their minds.

Small class? Think we're taking a full complement (25) and 3 to backfill (2016s).

I have to agree. If the staff finds 25 guys they feel fit their system they will make room for them. You have a short window to succeed and they will need to get the guys they want.

Great pick up

Very nice pickup! This will not be a small class, fully expect them to sign 25 and have some early enrollees that count toward 2016. January will be an exciting month.

is O.O. announcing tonight?

Doesn't he know that we have no patience?!?!?!?

Maybe we catch the attention of a QB?

Are we looking for another one now that Fitzgerald transferred? I thought Thomas was it for this class?

Unless it's a JUCO or a January enrollee that can participate in Spring practice, I don' really see the point.

Since we're recruiting highly athletic players at that position, I guess the player could always be moved to a different position.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but Scum has lost 3 committments in the last 2 days. One is Jalil Irvin. Looks like we have an offer out to him.

I'm guessing Illinois' chances are very low with this kid (From Georgia, already has established a top-5, we have already taken a couple guard prospects).

Who would you rather play for, Lovie or Harbaugh? :D

Hopefully, the sentiments of Lovie's past players will help convince some talented young men that UI is the place to be! You can learn from a professionally experienced staff that won't degrade you all day.

Sorry, but if you're committing and still going on more official visits, you aren't committing.

Depending on what you mean by that, that's literally not true.

Someone might be able to quote a stat, but I'm pretty sure a healthy majority of kids who take visits after they've committed somewhere else honor their initial commitment...

We've already become very familiar with the bowels of college football over the past 4 years ... We want BOWLS !!! :D

Oh my. Ha, ha, it helps to have a sense of humor when you are an Illini fan. Maybe I should have said, this is the kind of players you can climb out of the bowels and into the bowls with, :)
