Actually, Degroots rating is higher than Blankenship on 247 sports. Degroot 82 and Blankenship 81. Both are considered athletes as well.

I really enjoyed watching Degroot's highlights. It looks like he could help us on either side of the ball.

I also enjoyed watching it, but I think he is a DB all the way. I have really liked seeing these young men we are after at DB, all hitting people. not just diving at their feet and hoping they fall down, but hitting guys and knocking their feet off the ground

The only thing he is missing is top end speed. He can hit, tackle and catch the ball. If he were a little faster, he would be a top 100 player in Florida and would have a ton of offers from D1 schools.

I think sitting him a year is the smart play, but I'm worried we won't do it. I don't know.

I would rather he sit out a year but I really don't want to see JGJ if Crouch is injured. Plus, if we can get Patterson/Taylor, these are guys who could be ready by 2019.

The staff is really high on Chayce so I think he could be the #1 starter regardless. However, we all know from watching him play that it is very likely that he will get injured at some point plus he's coming off of a pretty serious injury.

It would have been so much better if Lawson could have enrolled early and had more time to learn the offense. Our non-conference schedule is brutal after the Ball State game so it's not like we can give him garbage minutes before we play Conference games. I really don't have that much faith in him learning the offense in a month given his struggles at VT and Garden City.

No I saw. I made a mistake thinking I was giving him a dedicated announcement thread as all commits deserve.
Thanks for posting (was away during the commitment) :thumb:

I think your selling JGJ short, he was 3rd string didn't get to practice with the 1st or 2nd team , now he will have all spring to himself. I also understand what your saying about 2019 but still rather have a 5th year Qb with a rs FR as his backup if we can get to that point. Guess we just have to wait and see how everything plays out. I just hate the thought of wasting a year when I see 2017 as a rough one, but should be a lot more fun watching then it has been, win or lose
