"Stacked" is a generous way to describe a three-year recruiting haul with classes ranked #10, #12, and #12 in the Big Ten.
Personally I think the class will go up. I think there's a good chance Cooper commits soon, and if they get RaJae Johnson and/or Jashau Allen that would be a class of four to five 4 star recruits, which would be a huge step in the right direction, especially for a team that won 2 games last year

That's quite the opposite of what I have been hearing about Cooper. Hope you are correct.

Are you hearing that he isn't committing anytime soon, or that Illinois is falling out of contention?

Did we only have one weekend for recruits to see practice? Not sure if there were unofficials throughout camp. I seem to remember more recruits stopping by last year, but maybe it was spring practice? I know high schoolers are in their own camp now, though.

All of August is a dead period

"During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period. "

That first tweet makes me think Bill Cooper was having a conversation with someone and he said he liked Illinois the most. (Meaning him, not his son)

To which this person (butt hurt sooner fan?) replied with a “not a committable offer” or “OU hasn’t offered yet” not realizing Bill wasn’t talking about Shammond.

I believe that Nu-Nu Washington is Marcus Washington's dad. If that clear anything up about the convo.

Is it common knowledge that dad is on our side? Who is the Head to which Nu-Nu Washington refers to in one of the replies?
I also would like to know who said linebacker "Head" is...

But is it just me or does Nu Nu have a peculiar interest in our program? Maybe Lovie & crew are starting to crack the ice, of the thick skull of Mr. Washington, to finally see that Illinois may not only a viable option for these other boys and for his boy also??

He seems to at least be mulling it over a little more now than in the past...

I would think so if he was considering actually committing to Mizzery. I mean c'mon! However, I don't think he has lessoned his stance at all with Illinois. I don't see anyway he picks us, even if we land Ira and Shammond.

I couldn’t help but notice that four Wisconsin players appear on ESPN’s pre-season All-America list, and precisely none of them were highly heralded recruits. All of them were three stars coming out of HS ... except for the two star kid. Per 24/7:

Jonathan Taylor *** .8854
Beau Benzschawel *** .8144
Michael Deiter *** .8328
TJ Edwards ** .7850

Thoughts?

Line type players as I recall - often tough to rate early since they are not skill players...
