Isn’t he on an UV to Miznoz right now? If he set a commitment date right after a UV there I’d assume it’s them right?

I would think if he was a 100% commit to mizzou he would have done it before he left the UV.

I guess we should follow the CBs. If they start to change to Miznoz, he’s gone. This is the situation where the CBs become way more accurate.

'Course, Massey is the definition of impressionable, so he may be oscillating right up to decision time.

A few interesting tidbits in here from former target Jirehl Brock...

Following His Heart: Brock recounts yearlong recruitment process

Brock recounted high-pressure recruiting he received from Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck.

"When Coach Little says people were calling every hour, it was (Minnesota) calling," he said. "They would text every 30 minutes. It was a lot to take in. You don't want to be rude about it. You try to be as nice as possible. They were the hardest school to say no to.

"Before I took my visit, I heard they would put you in the office and lock the doors and put an hourglass upside down and say, 'You have this much time to commit.' Good thing they never did that to me. Talking to Coach Fleck in his office with my parents, it was really tempting to commit because of the approach he takes. He's a really good guy, don't get me wrong, but he knows how to make somebody intimidated."

I hope more about Flecks tactics are made open to the public. The more people see him as an intimidation/timeshare salesman, the more people (hopefully) will be turned off by his schtick.

Also he is a big dumb head.

When you're coaching an elite program, you can afford to apply pressure tactics and do so credibly by suggesting that if a kid doesn't say yes now, a 5* around the corner will snatch up his offer. It's still not a classy thing to do, but it's accepted as part of the game. (though admittedly, this anecdote seems extreme even by UK basketball or Alabama football standards)

But when friggin Minnesota applies those tactics, it sends all the wrong messages. It's incredibly lame.

You're absolutely right, but that doesn't stop the top salesman at the local Hyundai dealership from telling you that he had five leads on this CPO Sonata when he walked in this morning. In the context of young men making a MASSIVE decision, in many cases shifting the trajectory of their whole family forever, the Fleck model is absolutely sickening.
People like PJ Fleck should have less success than they do in this modern world and people like Lovie and Hardy Nickerson and Josh Whitman should have more.
Which is why I want this post tattooed on my forehead.

So, Mr. Coleman is not rated. Cool. I nominate Mr. Coleman as our man to watch over his ILLINI career to see if this coaching staff can coach him up to get him into the NFL. Seth Coleman is our mystery man. Enjoy!

I hope recruits start to realize the games and tactics he uses. If Fleck is willing to put a timer on you to pressure you into a commitment, that means he wants you bad enough that the offer will still be good when the clock hits zero. You don't put low priority guys on a clock, you put them on the back burner. High priority guys will always have a spot at schools like Minnesota and Illinois.

Fleck vs. Lovie

Are you suggesting there is a difference between the two?

#3 is where coaches get the flexibility to make the offers commitable or not. Interesting.

This isn't new and has probably been covered on this board already. I didn't think it could get any worse than Beckman's "OSKEE" acronym, but here we are with Fleck's "HYPRR". The "H" should stand for hallucination. This guy is insane.

Indeed. So in reality this offer is not worth the paper (or pdf) it is printed on? I wonder if a 5* at a position of desperate need (or multiple position athlete) would have #3 above in his offer letter too?
