Actually rated 5th in the Big Ten by PFF this year in terms of offensive line rating. We are only losing 1 starter (albeit a huge one in Nick Allegretti) so we should be able to maintain a similar rating.
First, I do not watch enough B1G games to know, but offensive line too? We haven't been top 5 in B1G for offensive line in this millenia, have we?

MJ is my prediction
My thoughts as well especially since lil Juice won’t be an early enrolle. No doubt Rod will have plenty of package plays for him though

I think we have to start creaning guys or there are guys who could leave on their own. The 4th year Juniors along with J. Marchese and Walker are fair game. The only 4th year Junior I would maybe push out is Justice Williams. Other than that, I think we need the rest including Reams who was in the rotation at WR at times last year.

Lovie didn't say he expected any transfers at the Presser, however, so the staff probably likes these guys and may not want to push them out.
.

I'd be surprised if any of those 3 are apart of Spring practice. No announcements forthcoming likely because none of them will be transferring to continue playing.

MJ will be our starter to open season as Juice 2.0 isn’t enrolling early and it will be tremendous learning curve. Rod is like a mad scientist right now putting packages for Williams together as we speak though and I believe the ball will be in his hands a lot. He will split out to start the season.

By end of 2019 Williams takes over and never looks back. With performances reminiscent of Pat White at WVU, Williams takes Illini to top of BigTen West in 2020 and 2021. He becomes winningest QB in UofI history.

Caveat...Rivers transfers after next year if this happens.

Sorry. Been getting jacked up on the orange sauce for the basketball game. A lot to be excited about with football program though.

NU loses players on both sides of the ball. Illinois dropped to many balls and drew penalties. We are gaining more play makers and are young team is maturing. Will see next year, a lot depends on coaching. Not sure their is a talent discrepancy.

All due respect, if you hold our rosters together and don’t see a talent discrepancy, you’ve got some serious O&B blinders on and I take no joy in saying that.

Wait a minute, is this an ILLINOIS FOOTBALL thread?
What the hell is going on here?
Checked the top of the page, does say Illinois.
Festivus miracle? Holy crap!

You think that changes if the team sees more success next year or if he sees his former teammates playing early with success?

The success of Jeff Thomas could play a huge role as some think their skills are similar. Mookie’s first love is the RB position and believe it not it was Jeff’s favorite position as well.

Do you know what's going on with Estes? I'm guessing they can't officially announce this until the paper work is complete?

I hope this means we have a chance with the 2020 kids at ESL. Powell and Johnson already have multiple P5 offers. If the tide has turned with ESL then we have to have a chance with these guys.

Things are looking so much brighter now.

Thomas, Ford, Beason and Williams would be 4 of the highest rated guys we've had on the roster since 2013. Eifler was also rated higher out of HS than anyone who got snaps for us last year.

Lovie and Coach Sunkett had a heart to heart meeting which helped tremendously. I thought this should have taken place sooner but in the end it’s done. ESL is in full support of Lovie. It was both of their idea to put the picture on Twitter and show the world.

This is so great. You're right that this should happened earlier.

I would imagine although there are kids in the Class of 2016 who have never played a snap who are still here. Have Trainer, B. Jones and Gavin ever played a down here? Maybe they have no other options? It also seems like we've been hearing about Palmer being an impact player at TE for the last two years and then he never plays. Maybe these guys have no other options which is why they stay on scholarship and don't leave? The staff could nudge them out but they aren't guaranteed a scholarship for another year.

We have had a kicker (McCourt) on scholarship for three years and he isn't going anywhere since he will be battling it out against Griffin next year.

Also, I really want to see what @Title has to say about this. Estes could have been a package deal with Thomas.

I remember @Title said that Estes had no interest in Illinois in 2016.

Correct, he didn’t have interest based on Mcgee making it obvious that he would do anything to get Jeff. It was basically the same situation with Mizzou if you watched 89 blocks.

ESL is loaded over the next couple of years. They have 3 8th graders going to the under Armour all American game in which one already have a Mizzou offer.

What's the latest with Powell and Johnson? I know they visited for the WIU game.

I've been afraid to ask because of how this season went and because of how fractured the relationship is/was at ESL. These guys are talented and are at positions of need.

I'm guessing this is also dependent on how things go with Thomas and Estes?

I've also been hearing that Hawthorne could be a GA at Illinois this fall? I really hope this happens and leads to him getting a position on the staff later on.

The relationship with Lovie was more important than the results on the field which is why that meeting was so great.

Both of them are up for grabs and they are two kids who would love to go to the same school. They are truly like brothers.
