I liked his Hudl vids. If we get him into "Insert name here" strength program, he could see the field in a few years. So Butkus leaves and then we get an OL.....

Last I was told is that grades are an issue with Wright. Kind of why he fell off everyone’s radar.

According to 24/7 Sports, Jacardia Wright hasn't even been offered yet by us. He's got Big Ten offers from Iowa, MSU and Minnesota. This is usually the case when we see one one do highly ranked with no one
You are letting a couple of good recruits skew your opinion. Those couple of players are not enough to change a program. Every program ahead of Illinois has those type players plus an additional 10 - 15 other players that will help build depth in other programs.

Come on bro think about this beason Williams and copper had some of the top programs in the country wanted them included those big ten team that you talking about luke Ford was a top 50 guys I remember when luke Ford committed to Georgia the ESPN recruiting analyst said that Ford would be the top recruit on 25 other team recruiting class and he would of been the front runner to win Georgia tight end Job. eflier was a back up on the Washington team that has NFL talent all over the field. Seth Coleman was unknown into Illinois found him and you see Utah with a top 20 defense in the nation wanted him so trust the staff. Lovie is bring the talent and speed to compete with those schoolYou are letting a couple of good recruits skew your opinion. Those couple of players are not enough to change a program. This is not accurate. Northwestern doesn’t have talent like we pulled this class. And they won the west

If one of the top programs in the country pulled in this class it would hurt their programs.
I liked a few of the recruits but it is not enough to move the needle.
I guess we will see how it translates to wins.
Northwestern had no 4 star athletes compared to 3 for Illinois. Northwestern had 19 three stars compared to 10 for Illinois. Northwestern pulled in more talent.
While I'm quite pleased with this latest recruiting class, I'm not sure his argument can be laughed off so easily. Illinois brought in 5 players rated below Northwestern's lowest rated player. Unless you believe that half of Illinois' class is not talented, then, yes, unfortunately, NW brought in more talent.Hahahahahha. I thought you were trolling. Now the comment is just funny
Interesting, but it looks like you aren't accounting for transfers on that graph. Almost certain ours would be way better than theirs. While I'm quite pleased with this latest recruiting class, I'm not sure his argument can be laughed off so easily. A couple of good recruits may indeed be skewing our opinion.

Yes, but how would that work? Eifler hasn't cracked the two-deep at Washington. Does his rating go down? Plus, I have no idea who, if anyone, NW has transferring in or out.Interesting, but it looks like you aren't accounting for transfers on that graph. The other interesting thing is that NW's top 13 recruits average 0.8662, which is right in line with the Illini's 0.8679, despite the top-heaviness. Also, even without the top three players, Illinois' average rating is 0.8476, which would better than any class since 2009. So, this is definitely a pretty good class for Illinois.Seth Coleman is going to be a 4 star as well. We will have four recruits better than their best. Our per recruit ranking is higher than Northwestern. Northwestern does what they do and they do it well. I'm not sure there are many coaches that would trade our class for theirs.
In fairness, I will say we are a bit top heavy. We have 7 or so really highly thought of prospects and then the rankings drop drastically. 7 out of 13 big time recruits and 6 program builders is pretty good

I thought we had 4 left, NSD used 2, guessing 2 left with 1 saved for TateHow many scholarships do we have left, one? Is this being saved? 24/7 really doesn't know what is going on!! You don't want to offer and lose a scholarship until he qualifies. I understand there are a few other top schools interested ......... Time will tell real soon !!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if we save them for pwo that have earned playing timeI thought we had 4 left, NSD used 2, guessing 2 left with 1 saved for Tate
I mean I'm not against using scholarships on walk ons that deserve it, they're definitely out there, but "saving" scholarships for them? That seems kind of counterintuitive, right? I get that you're essentially hedging your bets with PWO's, but even still, you have to take a guy with D1 offers over potentially using a scholarship on a kid already committed to this team, one presumably too "bad" to get an offer out of HS. Now, if they don't use the scholarships on any new recruits, by all means give it to the walk ons, but until recruiting is done for this year, why set aside scholarships?I wouldn’t be surprised if we save them for pwo that have earned playing time
