Nothing wrong with that, don't let it sway your expectation level is all.

What inevitably happens is someone views this platform, draws a conclusion based on what they perceive and then if/when things don't pan out the way they believed they would, the frustration level grows to a point where the anger gets misplaced. Viewing that post above and having it turn to "Lovie sucks, we should have had Jalen, he clearly wanted to be here"! Those are the types of things I hope we can avoid by understanding what social media does and does not do.

That's a wild example by the way, not a direct reflection of anything I've witnessed on this particular board.

I only take it as we have a shot at the guy, I don't count them until they sign their papers and are on campus.

Am I wrong that I think the highest of Jerzhan Newton? He is the one I am really hoping we land.

Pretty bush league of Sunkett to call out CP like that.
Reminiscent of the Jeff Thomas/Knight recruitment,... we're expected to take probably the 5th best Sr on his roster & perhaps it will work in our favor someday:lie: Sunkett made positive statements about Lovie & :illinois: but like most IHSA coaches instead of doing for us, we're always expected to do for them

I really liked his film too. He’s big, but athletic and can move quite well. I like Riggins a bit more, but Newton is underrated IMO on 247 for sure.

edit: Twangers said basically the same thing as me 20 minutes prior. Oops.

Great minds, right?

Rivals must be weary of the positional projection (Something I personally value). Otherwise they’ve simply missed the evaluation on Riggins as every bit of play projection screams next level ability. Calvin Avery was the quintessential big DFW kid that could only push people around and you knew when he got here that he needed a lot of work. Riggins, however, can (And has quite often) actually beat a kid technically. From a pure technical stand point, this kid could play for us tomorrow if he needed to. He’s a 4* star player.

To me, if we get Riggins it will be similar to us getting Corey Liuget years back. Not sure if Riggins has THAT type of ceiling, but very nice player. I still wonder how we convinced Liuget to leave the state of Florida. Great player and even better person.

LOL, I’m not going there. Liuget was a special talent. Riggins isn’t quite in that realm.

Who he reminds me of is a DFW kid I loved a few cycles ago, Levi Onwuzurike who is at Washington now. Wins technically, plays all over the DL, plus on the rush and in the run game. He needs some muscle to get to that eval but I think that’s a good comparison.

While not as legit as Liuget, still a good get?

Oh, very. I’m a big fan. I think he’s a year plus away physically but technically, he could contribute in 2020. The kid can play. He’d get a 4* grade from me.

Manny misplayed his hand here.

definitely got ahead of myself:LOL:. I didn’t recall Liuget being ranked quite as high as he was.
