So did all the BBQ buzz just die again, or are there things happening behind the scenes? I don’t like the quiet!
Very true, but I had high hopes for a couple more commits before everyone settled in and the excitement wore off. Frenchie and someone else I can’t think of were rumored to be close to jumping on. Ah well. Now we wait.Normal for things to be so quiet once camp starts. HS recruits are gearing up for their season. College coaches are busy implementing systems, evaluating players, etc. It will slowly build up once the season starts.

Underthrows the second pass in the highlight and then barely steps into his next throw and shows plenty of zipHere are some highlights of C.J. Dixon (Grayson) from last night's scrimmage against Hillgrove.

He threw for 244 Yards and had 1 TD in the first half. Their season starts next week.
Apparently we are in the mix for Miami transfer Derrick Smith. He's a Safety who announced he was transferring last week:

Hudson is the obvious connection here. Florida Atlantic offered him out of high school.

Barring something unforeseen, guessing he would have to sit out this year? If not, would definitely help in the secondary with Beason likely down for an extended period of time.

That would be my guess. He was in the Class of 2017 so it's unlikely that he has graduated and he's obviously not going to be granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA if he transfers here.
This would be like adding a JUCO player to the Class of 2020. We aren't targeting many realistic DBs in this class so he would be a nice addition to the roster.
We're up against Florida, Texas and Nebraska here. I don't know what their scholarship situations are but we have room to add two more scholarship players. We can probably sell potential playing time to him as well since S. Green is gone after this season and we haven't added any secondary players in the Class of 2020. He's up to 220 lbs so he would be great at SS.
He was supposedly having a really good camp so Miami fans were somewhat surprised that he decided to transfer.
I'm not sure how much actual "recruiting" can be done in situations like this and he's deciding this week, however. We have to hope that there is a strong connection between him and Hudson. He also went to the same High School as Deon Pate.
Ykili Ross was rumored as a possible addition for a long time but he doesn't appear to have landed anywhere?

Confucius?Disappointment can come only to those who make an appointment with the future.
Leave the future to the coaches.
According to the 247 video he submitted his transfer after the official depth chart was released.. so I'm speculating he did not win the starting job and wants to go elsewhere..That would be my guess. Hillgrove is a very highly rated large school in Georgia. They have a top 25 5 Star DE who is going to Clemson. They are a good defensive team. I know that it was a scrimmage, but those are good numbers against a very strong team.Underthrows the second pass in the highlight and then barely steps into his next throw and shows plenty of zip

Influenced by, perhaps. Difficult to say after a few.
I pretty much had it narrowed down to either him or Beckman.Influenced by, perhaps. Difficult to say after a few.

Good news should be coming. A solid transfer with two years of eligibility.

Miami safety? Guy's a horse.
.....with immediate eligibility?
