I heard that Sam Jackson of Naperville Central is our #1 QB target for the Class of 2021 right now.

Collier didn't visit for the BBQ in July and that may be why. We couldn't get Jackson on campus either, however.
There is a 6'3" dual threat 2021 qb at Lawrence North in Indy, are we interested? We don't seem to recruit Indiana. I live in Indy area and they seem to have decent talent

I have no insight on this but we pretty much stopped recruiting Indianapolis just because it was hard for us to get any interest from P5 recruits there. It makes sense since there are 3 P5 schools in the state and other B1G East schools have been recruiting that area for a long time.

I believe Cory Patterson was originally given Indianapolis as one of his recruiting areas but that was changed to Georgia in addition to the St. Louis area.

Lawrence North rings a bell. Didn't Greg Oden and Mike Conley come from there?

As stated previously, 0440 is as plugged in as anyone I’ve come across. If he says it, it’s true.

That said, it doesn’t matter if we don’t win and get ourselves to a bowl.

Those mid- to late-80s teams were full of Indiana guys. Both White and Mackovic did well there. Derrick Brownlow, Mo Gardner, Jeff George, Jim Pesek and Pat Quigley from Carmel (washed out but Quigley was very highly recruited), Elbert Turner, Aaron Shelby, David Hill, Chris Green, Todd Leach and Jason Guard were all on those teams and contributed. I lived in Carmel from 1988 to 1991 and my neighbors who were fans of IU and PU always groused about Illinois coming in and taking their talent.

Would love to see us get back there. Anyone know what Mike White is doing these days? (Yes, I know he must be 80 by now....that's a joke.)

Yes, those teams had good Indiana talent. Great memory. Think Ken Dilger was an Indiana kid too,

Not trying to damper on your guys reminiscing, but recruiting Indiana now would be a giant waste of time with the pipelines this staff has developed. Also with IU and Purdue being much better now no thank you
