Camp performance is a zero sum game. Some attendees perform well, therefore others do not. The likely outcome from the lack of football this summer (and this fall?) is you are going to see greater variance on player performance based on ratings and team landing spots. If it was easy to project certain recruits would have performed well, coaching staffs would do the same (and made offers in a response).
Yes to a certain degree you are correct. But the one thing a lot of our commits have are P5 traits. Moffits speed and size would have for sure gotten him some more looks at camps. We offered the Army commit based purely off speed (he doesn’t even have much LB film). Yes some recruits wouldn’t preform very well, but it’s not gonna cost them offers just stunt the ability to land more. Even a guy like rosiek missed a big chance to prove himself at camps this summer/fall. My one big compliment of this staff is the ability to identity under recruited talent, I think the slow burn approach helps us here. Werner, Easterling and everybody else who watched rosieks film came away very impressed, which to me shows he would have picked up more offers if we let his recruitment play out.

Lovie seems to be adding good speed with this class. I like.

We have moved up to 12th in the BIG10 in recruiting rankings.
Rivals, on the other hand, feels that we've dipped in the 2-stars for three of our ten players. We're still in last place over there.

Question for the experts --- is the best yet to come in our 2021 recruiting?

Well we do have a knack for finding hidden gems, so I’d say yes!!!

Hidden gems like an Edwin Carter. I will take FL speed. If the staff wants them that is ok with me for what it is worth.

Most of us are hoping that Lovie gets us to the expected bowl team, and then we'll be competing for recruits and kicking A. ......Speed is the Key!!!

Hope we know how to coach all this speed up because man we look small at a lot of positions.
That being said excited to get what looks to be b10 level athletes.

I actually think speed is what we are missing. Lovie's cover two asks for the back 7 to cover a lot of ground to be effective especially from the Mike and the secondary. Even on the DL it is more about speed through the gap and disruption to help the back 7 make plays on poorly thrown/timed balls. Basically speed makes our defense go, and getting more is going to make us better.

We'll never be super stout against the run and we will bleed yardage, but TOs are the key and our defensive stats will reflect TO margin and offensive possession.

Yeah get that. Rod and Co. will hopefully increase TOP and sustain some drive s.
