PSA: I wish some of you would upload a photo to put under your name. Would help me remember individual posters (and some of you have some great options for photos based on your profile name). Wondering how to post an avatar? Click on your name up on the blue bar (next to the search option), click on account details, then you'll see a link for uploading an avatar. From what I remember, it can be a little cantankerous that the photo isn't too big, but it will not take more than a minute or two.

If Dan wants to delete this based on it not having anything to do with recruiting, I completely understand

What if I have a modified version of the standard "first letter" that actually is my username?

Just got off the phone with my buddy on staff. Didn’t really talk about any recruiting but he said the mood has changed around the coaches. They are hungry and confident in their ability to land some big fish. He said and I quote “we can feel the momentum building, we are going to try and take some big swings”. Sounds promising!

Living in Louisville, Ky for 32 years I noticed that an ILL kid verballed to UofL. I am sure all posters know it is Ben Perry. Here is my question. Why Louisville? Why not ILL. He goes to Mt. Carmel if I am not mistaken. We offered him. I would assume they spoke with him or maybe I am wrong. Much like Shaw, Irving, and others. I guess if they do not want to come to Champaign to play than what can the staff do. I wouldn't think they have just totally ignored the Chicagoland and said, "let's go to St. Louis, Fl. Tx. and Ga. So who would Lovie hire on staff that knock a home run on recruiting the Chicagoland area? Who would be available to do it? This has been talked about over and over. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. My son told me the write up in Louisville about Perry is he is the #2 rated kid in ILL and he wants to attend the Speed School. The engineering school at UofL. We did get a good one from FL to play either wr or cb.

I love that attitude!

Current article in Sports Illustrated about Lovie using a Transfers strategy as part of his recuiting effort:

I just read it. My take -- it's pretty negative portrayal of the program. (On the other hand, maybe Lovie is the Rick Pitino of the college football world and the first to figure out how to operate in the "new NCAA transfer portal universe" --- as Petino did with the one-and-dones several years ago.)

He seemed to take the stance that a low to mid tier 3* HS recruit that we would normally get is better than a 4 or 5* castoff from a powerhouse program. I don't really agree with that but there is risk either way.

Not to give ya a heart attack but I’m now hearing we could be in line for another commit tomorrow..... on top of wisecarver and the commit today for coach Patterson. Wow what a week!

So Wisecarver is committing today, a different player (being recruited by Patterson) is also committing today, and then a possible third commitment is happening on Sunday?

Our staff is going overboard with the GIFs this morning. This can't just be about Wisecarver. I hope this means Blackburn committed.
