Seems like great opportunity for a new coach to bring in some of his own guys and hit that transfer portal HARD.
Not horrible for a MAC school. It is not acceptable for a P5 school.
Back to our poor recruiting generally and in Illinois specifically (and even more specifically, Lovie’s failure to attend the Illinois coaches’ Zoom bc he was preparing us to get beat down by NU), wasn’t Ashton Washington hired for that very purpose? So if she sees Lovie refusing to attend and (maybe?) refusing to allow anyone on the staff to attend, isn’t it her job to go to Josh and say, “Dude, Lovie’s killing me here. I can’t be successful at what I was hired to do if he doesn’t throw me a bone. If Lovie won’t go, can’t we make Rod attend? Or SOMEONE/ANYONE to represent the state school?”

I’ll take it for a class with no Coach. There’s actually a few guys that could of definitely went somewhere else that signed, so that’s a positive. Wisecarver, Edwards, Bryant, McConnell, And Washington are all guys that look pretty good too me
Illinois is actually last place. I think Purdue landed another Karlaftis this week. Even before we lost a couple commits, we had the lowest average player rating in the conference.

I understand your point. The sad part is we got the guys we wanted. And we are still at the bottom. If we had missed on a number of guys and ended up last I’d almost feel better.
I saw Jack Coan is in the transfer portal. I hope we stay with our qb room as it stands.
I’m with you there. I believe that Bielema is going to make some massive roster changes this year and hit the recruiting trail like a mad man. I expect Bret to make some major noise in the transfer portal for us this year.
Have we had any de-commits the past few days? I haven't heard of any. How many schollies are still available for 2021? Between those and the spots that will open up after BB launches fringe players, it should give him ample opportunity to mold the roster to his preference, almost immediately.
