Its a need imo and yeah its probably not worth the talk since its all signs pointing to iowa. i just assumed hed be buried on the rb rotation and we need the defensive help. I am liking the class so far, just looking at it from a depth perception its d line and secondary we could use recruits/transfers. Just my .02 tho, know nothing from within

Is there a reason so many people still think it's Iowa? I get why based off of predictions a couple weeks ago, but based on several replies to his tweet from current commits and even parents of those commits, plus the fact that it will be on WCIA, I'm somewhat optimistic that things have changed.

Maybe I'm naive in assuming what media options he has available to him. But if his priority is "getting out of his backyard," WCIA would be an odd platform to choose.

I agree and I’d think WCIA would question giving the announcement live coverage if it was likely to be negatively received By 99% of their audience. I don’t live there, but they certainly don’t do this type of thing often do they? I want him and he’s a great prospect, but it’s not like he’s the first 5 star prospect in local history and no one wants to miss this announcement. Or am I reading this wrong?

I grew up in the WCIA viewing area but haven't lived in the area for 20+ years now. I would be disappointed if he didn't choose Illinois but not shocked.
That being said it is a NEWS channel. They are going to get a lot of views on the website or watching on television. Aidan announced that it will be on WCIA and Twitter. WCIA promotes high school sports in general and the kid lives 30 miles from Champaign. WCIA has wrote an article or so in the past about the kid and they can tie it in whether he chooses Illinois or Iowa.
80% of the news is filled with junk (deaths, murder, arrest, policies, etc)
WCIA letting the kid announce where he will get a scholarship to play football is a plus in my eyes. You will only see groans from those on here if he doesn't choose Illinois

WCIA has been known to make public relations blunders. Recently posting a pic of a man with a halo and angel wings who was accused of shooting 2 police officers, killing one in Champaign. So yes, i could see them not being aware of the deep dislike of the Hawkeyes here in C-U.

This is interesting. For those more in the know, is he being recruited as a RB or an ATH (by us and Iowa)?
There is a chance he will not tell either staff till the announcement
I have mainly mentioned how I have seen Aidan play and how fast he is. I do forget to say he is probably one of the strongest if not the strongest on the team. He was benching 225 pounds 10 times before his breakout sophomore year.
