I mean it's okay to say it when it's every school in the country doing the same thing: the bottom fifth of the roster is getting kicked off the teamArmstrong just entered the portal. We landed him last year from Norte Dame. Only played three snaps this past season as a converted RB playing WR. I expect more people seeing the writing on the wall that BB is looking to turn the roster over.
He may want to test the waters, but I’m not sure if he is physical enough to make the jump? If he can go he certainly should. With the numbers he had this year does anyone think K. Joseph tests the draft waters?
I have no inside information but I certainly would if I were him. He's the #1 rated safety in college. Why not try to leverage that? Why take the chance of a down year or injury? With the numbers he had this year does anyone think K. Joseph tests the draft waters?
My understanding of the PFF is that it try’s to equalize that. If every pass is perfectly thrown he may not get the interceptions but he can still be in the right place to make the play. How many true offensive juggernauts did we play this year, especially pass oriented. Although he is the number one safety, I’m guessing he would be behind quite a few SEC backs. Of course, just my opinion.
Seems to be the exact opposite of the type of QB we want. He is definitely a run first QBAdrian Martinez?
And a turnover machine. No way BB will stand for that.Seems to be the exact opposite of the type of QB we want. He is definitely a run first QB
Looks more like a Guard. But, we need them also.Ira Henry is leaving Florida State and has entered the transfer portal. He is a huge OT originally from St. Louis.
If we can't pick him up when his HS coach is on our staff, yikes. This should be a guarantee.Ira Henry is leaving Florida State and has entered the transfer portal. He is a huge OT originally from St. Louis.
I would rather have a statue in the pocket that knows how to throw the ball away and protect the football than a mobile qb that doesn't. Our statues combined for 23 sacks for 169 yards this season behind a suspect pass blocking o line. Compare that to a team like liberty that has a potential 1st round draft pick with incredible speed for a qb behind a bad o line, they had 50 sacks for 342 yards and a below average offense. It's really difficult to get any offense going when your constantly playing behind the chains.Consistent Quarterback play has been an issue for as many years as I remember.....sad to say but Adrian Martinez is an upgrade over what we have. Losing a ton of offensive line experience and at least would have a QB that has wheels to escape the pocket. Plenty of games this year where Peters or Sitkowski looked dead in the water not even picking up the blitz. I would not complain going from non-mobile 50% pocket passers who turn the ball over to an agile QB who is a 60% pocket passer who turns the ball over. Sad to say but hopefully we can land a QB eventually who can bring it no matter who it is.
Exactly....but we haven't had a mobile or non-mobile QB that can play consistent ball for a very long time. That was my point! I have no preference mobile or not mobile as long as the QB can actually play consistent. Just saying previous post Adrian Martinez is not a downgrade from what we have had in many years.I would rather have a statue in the pocket that knows how to throw the ball away and protect the football than a mobile qb that doesn't. I was looking at his high school recruiting profile. It looks like he has played a variety of OL positions at Florida State.Looks more like a Guard. But, we need them also.
Perhaps a product of poor coaching. You know . . . Scott Frost. And a turnover machine. No way BB will stand for that.
Edge rusher Curlee Thomas, a Cal hard commit, is on an OV this weekend. Given that it's the last weekend before the early signing period, have to think we have a decent shot. He'd be our 2nd highest rated kid, according to 247.
We did get 2 commits already, but your point stands. I expect the staff to push hard the next 10 days before the early signing period begins on Dec 15th. The transfer dominos will start falling soon as well. It has to be a crazy time to be a coach. This would be great. Gotta find a way to show some recruiting wins to cap off that Northwestern beatdown and build a little momentum going into the 2023 class.
Where is all the Adrian Martinez speculation coming from? Does he have 1 or 2 yrs left?Perhaps a product of poor coaching. You know . . . Scott Frost.
Liberty also averaged 100 yards more per game than us. So while they gave up 15ish more yards a game in sacks, they turned that negative 15 into plus 100. Seems like a fair trade. They also threw more than us.I would rather have a statue in the pocket that knows how to throw the ball away and protect the football than a mobile qb that doesn't.
