Pancake blocks all day!I was glancing at this and read #3 as Sasquatch. Could be a good lineman.
They aren't gonna get another QB after they took DeVito. He has the arm talent yes. He will be the clear cut starter going into camp.
Can an "Insider" put an asterisk in front of the number for kids we actually have a chance with? Like I know the kid from Rock Island is going to Iowa. Thats a given for the Quad Cities, but what about the others? Thanks.
Pancake blocks all day!
We've all been drinking the Kool-Aid. I looked it up. The last Illini that had a legitimate shot at the Heisman as a finalist was Jim Grabowski in 1965. Butkus was one also in 1964. So, blame the hype train on all those since. They weren't finalists.AJ Jenkins would like to also have a word!
Here’s a couple of in-state guys in the portal now.Anxious to see who we bring in for OL transfers. Werner been talking about some IVY League players in the portal with high interest and zero academic risk. Badinovac worked out well from the Patriot League
Not sure if Hunter Nourzad from Cornell is one of them, but looks like he was recently offered by Miami, VA Tech, and Auburn.Anxious to see who we bring in for OL transfers. I’m sure they will get a look just because of where they are from. O-line guys don’t get talked about so it’s difficult to find information unless you have a contact. Here’s a couple of in-state guys in the portal now.
Arts out of his sling/brace. And had pretty much full range of motion. I’d expect him to be fineThis has the makings of a critical mistake. The other QBs on the roster give 2-10 vibes if DiVito is hurt, especially with Sitkowski being the best of the bunch by a sizable amount and he's having a substantial surgery. Who knows if he can come back and be ready at the start of the reason. I'd feel a lot better even finding a lottery ticket situation, such as a lower-level QB who wants a shot at P5 or a guy who was highly regarded but can't seem to stay healthy.
That’s awesome that he has full range of motion so quick. He’ll be able to get back to strength training all the better then.Arts out of his sling/brace. And had pretty much full range of motion. I’d expect him to be fine
Full range of motion or not, he shouldn't rush into strength training with a shoulder or knee problem. He needs to go very light for quite a while. That’s awesome that he has full range of motion so quick. He’ll be able to get back to strength training all the better then.
The flip side is that a lot of Zook's recruits washed out very quickly.
I agree it has to heal first. Likely 3-4 months. I’m just speaking from my own experience where it took me 6+ months to get motion back before I could start any strength. The motion either comes easily or it doesn’t. But it’s a huge benefit if it does.Full range of motion or not, he shouldn't rush into strength training with a shoulder or knee problem. Yes. This is who Bielema was talking about in his presser yesterday. When he said there’s a kid we’re still recruiting down there.Do we have any chance with Ahmad Moten? I saw on TOS that he will be narrowing down schools and I assume doing official visits.
Ahmad Moten, Miami Hurricanes, Defensive Line
2021: Racked up 39 tackles and 3 sacks as a senior for Florida's 4A state champions. 2020: Totaled 17 tackles (3 of which were for a loss) in eight games...247sports.com

That's great news I didn't expect him to be able to start rehabbing until after the new year/bowl season. I like art and think a full year that he can work on his mechanics to quit sailing the ball he could be a good enough starter for us.Arts out of his sling/brace. And had pretty much full range of motion. I’d expect him to be fine
I don’t know when the injury occurred, but it certainly seems like it could have been a contributing factor this season.I know he had some not so good results at Rutgers too, but any chance Art’s shoulder injury is to blame for his inaccuracy this past season?
I seem to remember reading after the injury came out and the surgeries (arm and shoulder) were announced that the shoulder occurred before start of season.I don’t know when the injury occurred, but it certainly seems like it could have been a contributing factor this season.
In my mind I was thinking it happened while at Rutgers, but I don’t know that was just my assumption or if I actually read that somewhere. You are correct he had it prior to the season anyway.I seem to remember reading after the injury came out and the surgeries (arm and shoulder) were announced that the shoulder occurred before start of season.
I think a contributing factor to Zook recruits' not working out was the number who never made it to campus or got in trouble before they could make an impact on the field. I remember message boards discussing if Zook signed players he knew had no chance of getting admitted, just for the buzz of the signing.I think this long-held belief is a bit overstated. Zook's top recruits panned out and made it to the NFL. A couple more guys may have washed out but it was the beginning of the growing trend of transfers but wasn't a big national discussion because Twitter, etc. was still in its infancy or non-existent. I do agree the end of the Zook era turned into him mailing it in on the recruiting side, which was catastrophic with Zook also being a terrible in-game coach.
