4 hard commits to the 2023 class before June started

14 hard commits with a few days left in June

Talk about bringing the guys in for visits and closing the deal. BB is not only landing them but look for the trend to continue of a number of these guys enrolling early to get acclimated to the weight room and get use to the system.

Any chance we can pull Terek away from Iowa?

It seems UW is the school we'd need to take him away from (and, it's not happening). UW has recruited the state of Illinois incredibly the last few years, unfortunately.

Holy crap, you’re right. He was “medium” to Iowa yesterday, and today he’s “high” to Wisconsin, per 247.

So is there any real chance we could get any of the elzy, hill, terek or moore group?

Looks like Elzy is the only one we still have any chance with.
Even when we had good teams we struggled to recruit the top players in state. We'd usually land a couple of the top 10 rated guys, a bunch in the 11-25 range and underrated 3* guys from out of state. If anyone can crack this Bielema can, but it will take a few years and evidence of progress on the field

Terek committed to Wisconsin

BB will be working miracles if we can land Elzy. Longer this goes on the more offers this talented kid receives.

I guess it is wishful thinking to expect George McDonald to be able to pull Elzy and other talented receivers to Illinois.

Each recruit has their own criteria for picking schools. I really like the confidence Elzy has and he wants to win big games. If going off that criteria alone than Illinois should not be in his top 10 schools.

BB and staff have pulled some decent WR talent in the short time they have been here. Elzy would definitely be the biggest name WR so far if we can land him.

No doubt. BB pulled Pugh and Beatty about 6 months into the job. Elzy has his pick of over 30 schools. Cincy and Illinois are probably the highest on his list and wouldn't be surprised if Notre Dame makes another push for him. Heard he might not commit until August(hopefully not true)

likelihood for Illinois (IMO):

(1) Hill

- gap -

(2) Elzy

- very large gap -

(3) Moore
Any would be great! Really thought we’d have a better shot with moore having williams and patterson here but I’ll be honest, this staff gives me way more hope to pull these bigger recruits in.

Iowa landing a top 10 player nationally 🤮

From same in-state school as the 5* safety they landed last year. Iowa does an exceptional job of recruiting in-state. They locate the prospects early and try to lock them up early. And, the ones they don't lock up early (like Proctor), they stay close to throughout the process.
