If Whitman can pay Bielema like the big boys pay the top coaches in the country why not stay in Champaign and build your own legacy. Of course we aren't there yet, he has a lot more to prove before he gets top dollar but he is on track this season. How great would it be to start getting the biggest chunk of p5 talent year in and year out from the Chicagoland. Start taking Notre Dame, Michigan, Iowa, and Wiskys lunch money on top level recruits. What a great morning, lets close the deal with Elzy and get that ink on paper.

I know this post will seem like a proud grandfather fawning over a grandson. However, I would like to find a way to have the O-line coach scout my grandson. He is a Junior starting lineman on a top ten 6A Texas high school team. He lives in Justin Tx. and plays for Byron Nelson High School. I believe, if he fits what Illinois needs, I could persuade him to give"The Beloved" a hard look.

A good start, but.................

It's a 5-star on a 12-man roster vs. 4-star on a 90-man roster.
Also note we are currently 6-1 and ranked #18 in the country.

That is not the program situation Ayo walked into.

Ayo is like a singular folk hero for Illini Nation, something I hope only deepens with continued success with the Bulls and continued success for Underwood's Illini.

It's a group effort in football. Let's keep it rollin'

This. If we land Hill & Elzy, that's #3, #4 and #5 in-state (and, FWLIW, I question how well the #2 kid turns out). That's precisely the type of sea change we've been wanting for for basically forever. And although this is undeniably a (the?) magical season, our staff strikes me as the antithesis of flash in the pan.

The proud grandpa > Tyler Underwood > Brad Underwood > Bret Bielema > Bart Miller pipeline. Only available on IllinoisLoyalty.
