Very interested to see how Swanson vs Leary plays out.

Occams Razor would be that Lunney recruited Swanson and not Leary and that's the end of it.

But they're very contrasting players. Leary, befitting the younger brother of an NFL prospect, is a super polished, mechanically well structured thrower who does everything they teach you at QB camps and looks the part in all of his actions. But he's not necessarily super dynamic and the results weren't really there for him in high school. Swanson is a bit of a mess mechanically and looks like he plays in a pretty off-script way, but he's clearly a phenomenal athlete who can throw it through a brick wall.

Blackstock to Sparty. Gross.
It's one thing to pick USC or whoever. I get it, but I don't understand why anybody could watch MSU's deplorable behavior this season and want their son to be a part of it.

holding out hope for positive news on a last minute sighing day commit for us
There have always been many, many sighs on this day in previous years-- not so much this year! If we can grab a few from the transfer portal, this year is more of an "aaaah," even without any additional high schoolers.

Does anyone have a nice, concise summary of what BB still wants/needs (between now and June 2023) to make it a really, really good recruiting season? And I mean beyond these 22 we expect to sign today........i.e. a class that would put us in the Top 33 nationally (just ahead of Missouri and Iowa).t

On3 has us sitting at roughly #44 right now.

FWIW Swanson was very close to some other huge offers
I'm excited about Swanson, but come on, horseshoes and hand grenades.

I said awhile ago that I will believe we've found a gem in Swanson to exactly the extent we have to sweat hanging onto him, and I stand by that. On a scale of 1-10 we had to sweat maybe like a 4.

Is everyone thinking Purdue then? He’s pretty adamant on Twitter about Michigan not being it unless I’m missing something
My guess is Michigan or Purdud, leaning toward Michigan. I know he left them off his social media post the other day, but kids like to create drama.

Hill is openly saying on Twitter that it isn't Michigan?

I mean if that's the case it could not be more obvious what he's up to.
right, his announcement image never even said "top 5." It just had other 5 schools listed at the bottom. and the center pic of him isn't his high school uni, so it's pretty plausible that the other logos disappear, the black jersey he's wearing turns into maize/blue and everything else besides one of the 3 big M's in "the commitment" fades away. Guess we'll see, but I'm with ya.
