Purdue is out recruiting so far by a significant margin. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we beat them out
Damn, that is really disappointing, honestly. I get the historic appeal of Michigan and Ohio State, and I even get that Notre Dame has a bit of a "home team" appeal here, as well. I also understand that schools like Iowa, Wisconsin and even Northwestern have simply proven a lot more on the field in the last decade than we have ... but Purdue disappoints me. While they have been a bit better than us in the Bielema Era, I would argue our trend is just as strong, and Bret is a very proven coach in his own right (especially within the Big Ten). Purdue also does not have any other advantage over us, if you ask me ... while I have no ill will toward PU and consider it a great school/spot to land, I think Illinois would look better on paper for college town comparison, overall academic ranking, facilities, home state appeal, NIL opportunities, putting guys in the NFL, etc.

We shouldn't wring our hands quite yet - PU has one 4* and 7 3*'s committed - it's decent but nothing we can't catch up with when all is said and done

Get back to us around July 1st. Let's see how this ends up although it should be apparent BB doesn't recruit off of: lists, rankings or stars other than his own.

Cincinnati, OH
Lot of talent in the west suburbs. Elgin, St Charles, Naperville, Oswego churn out a fair number of P5 recruits every year

The well has been dry since this legend:

Do other coaches recruit off of 247 rankings?

Maybe not the right place but anyone know about how many reps a PWO even gets in a given practice? We have all heard stories about walk-ons that had success, but I'm guessing you do not get a ton of chances to catch the staff's attention.
