if I recall, McDonald did the same thing with Ashton Hollins. Very similar situation; tall, athletic, slender WR from the south. If the evaluations are accurate I love the strategy bc it's way more difficult once those SEC schools start offering.

The major difference IMO is Hollins played QB in HS, so Orr may have a higher chance of contributing sooner into his college career.

Lots of beautiful women from rich families at Ole Miss, so seems pretty smart to me

game day is a beauty pageant of women aged from 18-60
Heck at FAR, the one girl I met that was born in Mississippi had the closest figure to a real life Barbie doll I've ever seen

We had great bull rush up the middle from the Law firm.

We lacked somebody who could blitz from the outside and run the QB down. Marquis could be our next Tez Wilson

You are half right - Jacas and Coleman are both pretty darn good.

Marquis can still be our next Tez however

Jacas and Coleman? c'mon, man

To be fair they did only combine for 8.5 sacks on the year. I'm super high on both of them and expect to see more production this season but there were definitely several games where the lack of a pass rush was pretty noticeable at times especially late in the season. Starting with MSU the pass rush fell off a cliff and had 3 sacks total over the last 5 games including 0 against Purdue, Michigan, and Mississippi State.

I blame that on Walters. Now that we have a real play caller look for great improvement there. //s

Exactly with the MSU game, right about the time the Big Ten refs legalized holding for any Illini opponent!

In the 2H of season while our tackles were getting good penetration and forcing the QB out of the pocket they were too slow (think 280 lb nose guard) to run the QB down to get the sack.

Walters was one of top defensive coaches in NCAA last year. JMO but Walters was not innovative with corner blitzes, safety blitzes or lineman stunts to get to the QB. I know he tried them but they were picked up by the offense. It is a combination of correct scheme/stunt to put an athlete with clear shot or 1 man to beat to get to QB.

Nothing wrong with sitting back and relying on your all american corner backs to stop the deep ball.

But the fact we had great secondary and great run stuffing linemen meant he could have substituted out the slow line backers on 3rd down and blitzed faster safety types from different directions. We were very good but very predictable on defense.
