Based on these posts it sounds like the bye week is being spent on kids already committed. It's that a symptom of our underperforming season or is this typical?
There are some non-commits mixed in. Plus, if not mistaken, no recruits are officially signed. In this day and age, have to keep recruiting your commits. Also, a fair amount of the HS the coaches are going to are pretty strong football schools, For example, the Ohio high schools that John and McCullom attend have between them another 5 or 6 three star players in 2024/2025 classes. Don’t know if are recruiting any of them, but building relationships with those types of schools isn’t a bad thing for future recruiting.

Underperforming and trying to keep our current guys committed ... You'll notice where Bret is headed ... Those are the commits he feel need an extra push ...

He has already hit 6 states ... Headed down South next ...

This is all a money grab ... Mizzou is gonna come up with more come signing day ... And that is where it will get interesting ...

Verbals don't mean :poop: ...
where is Missouri getting all the money that they are just shooting to the top of the recruiting rankings in football and basketball

this is begging for good old fashioned cheating by the top 6 or 8 teams. the very thing NIL was supposed to stop.
5 star kid HS kid in Missouri is offered a modest NIL deal to sign with the Tigers, but in swoops (insert you favorite
cheater) with the bag of cash. if every state does this, watch out.

So it is legal for a high schooler to take NIL money in state as a high schooler, I get that. What I don't get is how it is illegal for that same person to take money from an out of state entity? If the next Michael Phelps, Simone Biles or Tara Lipinski is from Missouri and wins olympic gold as a high schooler, can they not get paid to be on the Wheaties Box or create endorsements? Or collect any NIL money and then go to an out of state college afterwards? What is the illegal act and who is punished for it?

The idea that NIL was not going to benefit the existing haves was always silly.

Who is this referencing? The Xitter link broke so we can't see who got offered to start the convo.
I believe it is the RB from MacArthur. I saw he got offered by Iowa yesterday but did not see any other offers yet.

Edit: Just saw he tweeted out he got an offer from PSU. This is going to be a battle if that is happening already as a freshman. His likelihood of staying at MacArthur is probably slim, but who knows.

Heard he’s headed to IMG

The law states that they are allowed to get NIL money while in high school if they sign to an in state school. So the source of the money being out of state wouldn't really matter, in my understanding. It's a law incentivizing kids to sign to play in state.

In Missouri's case, I am pretty sure they just need to verbally commit to the in-state school and then they can get NIL. Hence, receiving it even before signing day

Unless the article itself was wrong, it's an LOI.
