Illinois offered him out of high school. Not sure they are wanting to add more edges right now unless there is more attrition.
I know what you are saying. First thought I have is we are Illinois......not Georgia or Alabama. Our talent level and depth is thin especially on the DL, keep adding

The problem is there is a "cap" in the form of scholarships. You can keep adding at one position but you then have to subtract from another.
I know more guys are coming in. Throw in the DL that are going pros/losing eligibility that clears up more scholarships. We are still low on DL and it is a need spot even with the 2 additions. We don't have to subtract from another area at this time to add a few more linemen which are needed.
I agree with everything you are saying in the other post and this one. Just stating we are still low on DL talent/depth and we are still waiting to see if anyone else enters the portal. Still need to add DL talent whether a few names stay or go.

We're on the same page. If Coleman goes pro, or Jacas leaves/moves inside, or one of the younger edges transfers - the staff probably needs to find a more experienced edge option in the portal. If someone like Denaud can play more inside, then they probably are interested. They badly need at least one more interior defensive lineman, even two seems very reasonable.
