Last night Anderson went head to head in the 3rd place 3A state basketball game with 6-10 Lathan Somerville who’s headed to Rutgers next year.

Somerville 22 pts/9 rebs
Anderson 16 pts/9 rebs

Kid is a plus athlete and should be the #1 priority for ILL football in 2026.

That’s an incredibly encouraging performance against a D1 basketball recruit with a size advantage. Let’s land this kid.

What is going on in Mt. Zion with all these athletes. Did the Amish decide to join the rest of us, unleashing their superior athleticism on the world?

Uh...Mt. Zion isn't that close to Amish country. Arthur and that area isn't too far away but it's not as if they're in spitting distance of each other.

That being said, Mt. Zion has usually produced some pretty quality athletes over the years.

NAACP just came out and recommended black athletes to reconsider attending Florida schools based on the governor's removal of DEI programs. I feel like this could have an impact on football, especially with our inroads in Florida. Even a small shift to non-Florida schools could make a difference. Do insiders have any sense if our program is going to up the recruiting ante in Florida?
