This is an area that constantly produces talent and Illinois has rarely harvested outside of PWOs. Even if it's 1-2 kids/year then it will start chipping away at an important hotbed for Iowa, Wisconsin, and (gasp) Notre Dame.

Tuerk was a huge get and he's a western burbs guy (LT, which is kinda SW). but to your point, pretty much everyone's been drinking our milkshake in the west burbs for a loooong time

Hinsdale central has produced a lot of good offensive linemen. It’s huge to start getting kids in western and nw burbs.

Joe Edwards from Downers (DGN), Bills OL David Edwards brother, is very underrated. wish we'd check him out. I think he'd be a great PWO. 6' 3" 215 LB. physical and athletic. baller

Doug Kramer

All the Allen brothers that went to MSU. All of them were pretty good, but even better wrestlers

There's one other I vaguely remember that came in during one of Zook's last years

I went to school with his cousin who played safety at Illinois. It would be cool if that worked out

This is what it takes to secure a top-5 in-state recruit. To become a 7-8-9 win program consistently, you need to win a couple recruitments like this every year.
