Just starting collecting my recruiting data on old B1G West competitors and a couple early + basic trends, one for conference and one for Illinois.

Illinois trend: Junior college offers might be dead. Could that mean this juco class is awful? Is it too early and those offers will start showing up in November? Did the staff decide it hasn't paid off? Or is it related to what's mentioned below?

Conference trend: Number of commitments per class is way down. Last year saw some programs continue bringing in big high school classes (Purdue, Wisconsin, and Nebraska) while others adjusted and brought in small classes (Illinois, Northwestern, Iowa). In 2025, the 2024 classes would be considered the larger classes. Teams are taking 4-5 less prep guys compared to last year.

3 possible (likely?) flips and the FL LB. Any of them going to be committing by end of this month or are we looking at longer term continuing to talk and sell them on U of I?

Not trying too get ahead of myself, BUT if we keep Luke next year, we return a ton of important pieces on offense and defense. Our o-line returns everyone not named JC Davis. Our defense brings back our secondary and a lot of our d-line. We no longer have gaping holes to fill in recruiting. The coaches can take some (hopefully improved NIL) $ and put it towards linebacker, 1 or 2 d-lineman, and WR's (losing Franklin & Bryant), and maybe RB. Where else do we need to focus our attention/$? This really shows how much Bret has improved the overall quality of our roster.

right. surgical adds vs flippin' triage mode. what a difference! and I'm very confident staff will ID players with the right stuff
