Elzy isn’t leaving. He just hasn’t had a lot of opportunities but now he will. Relax and enjoy it.

He hasn't had a lot of opportunities because he was hurt for almost the whole 2nd half of the season. He would have played more if he was healthy.

Whitenack hasn’t played since fourth game; took redshirt to preserve a year of eligibility.

Near the end of today’s presser, Bret name checked about 18-19 younger guys who he said he’s excited about having back next year. Several of the guys he mentioned I had heard (prior to this week) were likely to jump in the portal. Will be interesting to see how convincing Bret was during his player meetings. I hope they all stay.

Also, it sounds like we are in real contention for several difference making additions. Josh is working hard to get more NIL.

Elzy isn't going anywhere. Look at all the future NFL players he was playing behind. Now his path is clear and he knows it's a strong path from the Illini to the NFL. Plus he'll have a 3rd year QB throwing to him. He won't find a better opportunity anywhere else.
