Nobody knows if Luke will for sure be back until the spring portal window is over. There will be QBs come out for the NFL draft that need replaced on their teams and that is what that window will be for.
Leary leaving is strange given that he had 0 tape. I think it’s more that the coaching staff wants their next QB after Luke to have at least 3 years eligibility and that means they prioritize keeping Petty over Leary
No problem with Leary leaving.
Now, where are we at with Elzy? He's obviously the guy on the outside.... gonna be his third year in the fold.... wouldn't say he's been underwhelming, just hasn't gotten on the field. Like, where we at with him? Too much an ask to be starter-level dependable?

He played this year, had an injury, also was he supposed to play over Pat and Zhakari?
Leary leaving isn’t strange at all…..you don’t need tape to find a spot where he can play. The staff loves him and thinks he is really good. Also the fans are 1000x times more worried than Bret and Barry fwiw.
He also just turned 19 before the season. He’s still very young
Not sure what is strange about Leary leaving. He has two years of eligibility left and he is going to spend one of them sitting on the bench with no chance of playing except for an injury? Have to bet on yourself and go to a place where you can at least compete. Wish him the best.

A lot of bigtime transfers visiting. I’m not daft enough to believe UI gets them all but you’d have to think at least a few are hits.
It's early, but certainly would hope we're in play to land some good WRs. Should be able to sell Pat and Zakhari (and Luke).
wouldn't bet it. expecting top-calliber recruiting's just not the thing at illinois. that was a once in generation crew you just referred to.

We will get some good WR’s eventually. Just to get noticed by big time transfers is a good sign.
