I've tuned out for the past week, but we still have zero portal commits for 2025, except for our own players --- is that correct?

We aren’t even being linked to Dane Key anymore. Nebraska is linked to him but he will probably end up at Georgia or Ole Miss. Also someone on here said we may offer Malachi Coleman or get a visit from him. Nothing is out there linking us to him either. He will be visiting Minnesota of all teams.

Wisconsin's NIL is cruising right now. Got Billy Edwards, Dany O'Neil, and a really good prep QB all in the last month or so.

Don’t know how much of that is NIL outside of Carter smith. Is Billy Edwards even good? They got 6 transfers just today tho. That TE from Ball state is the real deal, but Wisconsin was a mess at more than just QB spot.

Several scenarios may be in play here on why we haven’t secured a commitment from anyone yet.

1. Players that we are targeting haven’t gone on all their visits yet so they haven’t made their decisions yet.

2. We just don’t have enough NIL money to spend so we aren’t offering enough to beat out the other schools.

3. Nobody is interested in coming here which I don’t think is the case.

4. Bret and the rest of the coaches are just concentrating on the bowl game and prepping for it that they just don’t have the time to recruit anyone at the moment. Can make things quite difficult.

Not looking great re portal. McVay ticketed to UNC and reportedly getting $1.5mm. Key not considering Illini. Malachi Coleman and his handler (reminds me of the relationship between Kamala and Kimchee in WWF) getting $35k from Gophers, Badger from ASU not visiting. Very tough scene on portal front.

I listened to Jeremy on 247 and he makes it seem like this staff is 100% all in on the portal but I just don’t believe it. Bielema has always stressed being a development program and I think that’s what they will continue to be. They are going to try to use NIL for retention, and then worst case scenario in the spring find some depth pieces. I doubt we have the budget or the desire to be the Dodgers
