If Jacas, Davis, and Scott are all back (I know this is far from done but "if") ... on paper, we don't have much of a weakness. D-line especially I doubt will be much of an issue after these additions. Maybe wide receiver is the one, but still...
Can never improve the offense line too much. Line of scrimmage is most important thing in football. JmoExpect him to hop on board and get to play with his old teammate …![]()

Hmm, Wouldn't he be more of a starter than a back up?
Would like to get at least one transfer from Purdue. I like that some former Illinois HS players are giving the Illini a second look (Wisky). I'm optimistic about our team next year, seems that players really like to play for Beilema and we are hitting the portal hard.more on Wingfield:
floor is clear upgrade over Crisler. think he has a good chance to be significantly better than the floor
Name? Wiscy only has three players in the portal that haven't committed to a program and all of them are QBs.Where do we stand with the 4th Wisky player who went to Marist HS in Chicago? Haven't heard much recently.
Yes- it seems all of our other WR targets have gone elsewhere already, but one more experienced WR would be great to getHere is a transfer WR that i would to see Illinois get. Had a great year this year as a Sophmore. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/5157331/adrian-norton
Couldn't go wrong with either one. Norton had over 800 yards receiving as a Sophmore. I do think we need another WR though.Yes- it seems all of our other WR targets have gone elsewhere already, but one more experienced WR would be great to get
I’d like us to go after Bryson Canty, WR, Columbia 14th in PFF this season - 2 time all Ivy League would be an immediate starter for us. I know Kansas targeted him early but he still hasn’t committed anywhere

WR remains at the top of the list of needs for next season. Curious to see who else they may be targeting (in the portal currently or not) as the first portal window closes today.Couldn't go wrong with either one. He was decent last year- ended the year with a PFF of 58.6 — 754 snaps. For comparison Melvin Priestly was at 56.4 — 767 snapsno idea how the staff feels comfortable with Getsky as a starter going into next year.
Weird... because the first three or four games he was said to be one of the tops in the country in PFF.He was decent last year- ended the year with a PFF of 58.6 — 754 snaps. For comparison Melvin Priestly was at 56.4 — 767 snaps
Plus the continuity of having started every game - particularly if JC comes back, having a lot of snaps with the same guy next you should improve their play next year - the Crisler/Henderson spot was more of an issue last year
It seemed when focus was highest on oline, a la 3&1 to keep a drive going, Gesky would miss a block, miss an assignment and play gets blown up. Needs to see same mental health therapist in the offseason. Then will be hopefully fine.He was decent last year- ended the year with a PFF of 58.6 — 754 snaps. I wonder in this day and age with NIL being so critical to success and coaching salaries so high, why wouldn’t coaches be big contributors themselves- if we were $5M total NIL last year and BB is making $6.7M why wouldn’t he put a million or so in himself to get a player he wants?
A 63.8 PFF would have tied him for 2nd best lineman for Illinois this year. Would love to have him push Gesky to keep his job.more on Wingfield:

It would be an investment for him given better players directly contribute to winning and him making more money
