Expect Wingfield to be officially on board shortly …

They’re after a TE and a P now …

I have been told by multiple sources Jacas & X are expected back as well …

As far as WR room goes … Stepp wanted Clement and got him … Think we’re set at that stop heading into the Spring … May need to re-evaluate in the Spring if someone like a Franklin becomes available … But they like the room …

I wouldnt mind bringing in someone like Kevin Terry as a development guy

I didn’t throw a fit…just didn’t think there was a great chance he would come back but looks like I’m wrong.
exactly, what is with people saying " i told you so"? The coaches comments made it sound like it was possible one of the 3 may not return. people need to chill out over this. One is back, lets get the other 2 back as well, and see where we are next year. too much nit picking going on.

I really like Fidone. I thought Nebraska never properly used him, even though he performed well as a chain mover. He's an underrated pass blocker and Nebraska rarely used him for that. Masking his role (is he blocking or catching?) is going to further elevate his game. Fun to think about personnel with (a) Rusk and Fidone and (b) Fidone and Arkin on the field at the same time.

Is that the same TE that kept smoking us this season!?!? If so, what a HUGE get!
Two catches for 46 yds against us.

2024 season totals below, zero TDs. Probably looking for more playing time like everyone else.

Not really impressed with these stats. We got Cole Rusk coming back from surgery this spring. Tanner Arking should be our starter. I don't think he declared for the draft.

We need another depth TE …

if Bielema wants him, so do I. 3 starter level TEs are a lot better than 2

Was by far and away Nebby's best TE... 30 more catches than the next guy.

Fadone would be ahead of Arkin on the depth chart if we were to land him.

Would’ve been the 3rd leading receiver this year with those stats. Yards and receptions

I would say Fidone would be the best college producing TE at Illinois since Jon Davis or even Uh-Oh. It's worth pointing out that Rusk had 39 receptions at Murray State and tore his ACL this fall. Fidone just had 36 receptions at Nebraska.

Edit: Accidentally wrote Arkin instead of Rusk

If we do land Fidone, let the battle begin. My money is on Tanner and Cole. I do like that Fidone has special teams experience. That's always a plus.

Arkin took a detour to Murray State? who knew?

Wow, your pretty down on him. I think he'd be the No. 1 tight end and don't think it's all that nip and tuck.

We usually don't use our TE's a ton , so i don't expect him to get 500-600 yards in a season. You add in the fact that we do have Arkin and hopefully a healthy Rusk next year as well, so i'm not sure how many catches and yards he would get if he came here?

Serious question, how good does our offensive line become return our 5 starters from last year and the possible addition of DJ?
