Might become an all time recruiting stretch here for the Illini. Maybe not Zook level of top end star power but definitely setting us up to build off this season and seasons to come.
Love to hear it as you said may not be zook level stars but at least we know this staff will develop them.ILL

Why do Aussies over index on punting talent? Is it because they grow up playing Australian rules football, they train with kangaroos, or some other reason.
Watch AFL (Aussie Rules Football) and it will make more sense. The game is 90% kicking and moving your team around the pitch via directional kicking as a way of passing.

Here’s to hoping my son can get a shot in 2026. We just recently moved back to USA but all my boys were born in Oz. They are kickers too! He’s got one more year to go. Kicking 40 yarders consistently now and working to get to 50 by August here in Texas.

I understand why some people would object, but I like the idea of pursuing some of the best players from top FCS teams.
Not sure all that many would object, especially when looking for a rotational piece for one season. Thing is, when you see these tweets that say former 4-star, they could just as easily say couldn’t make it on 2-deep depth chart (and some not even on 3 deep.

Looks like some minor shuffling of the rankings for '25 commits. Trimble keeps inching up. Straughton went down a sizable amount.

IIRC, they have a top level punting school over there. I believe there are 7 of them in the NFL, including the Bears punter, and about 25 in major college football.

What is the success rate of ProKick Australia?

Quote: "So far our program has successfully placed over 250 punters into US Colleges, with 95% of those being on full scholarship."
