How much of a talent gap is there between us and the remaining 4 teams in CFP?

I would say pretty big. We’ve maintained our level of talent. I wouldn’t say we’ve increased it. I would still expect the same result if we played Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon next year. But I think what people like is that we seem to be maintaining an 8-4 level in back to back seasons which hasn’t happened in forever

Example Penn States TE just caught his 100th pass of the year at 6.6ft 255lbs. That's insane. Then they have 2 running backs that will run you over , around you, or faster than anyone on field.

It's January 9th. This is an incredible workmanlike execution of an offseason construction plan. Filling in every whole with a high caliber player.

Now getting greedy. Is there room to ink a real difference maker still?
I agree- it’s incredible how the staff has filled every need already in the offseason- I can’t remember a year where we had no real position groups of worry heading into spring.

While I don’t think we’ll add another difference maker - I think difference makers will emerge next year. One of the WR will step up and be a #1 guy, one of the RB’s and TE’s will take a leap forward etc. The fact is we will have one of the best QB’s in the big ten, one of the best DE’s at creating pressure and two of the best OT’s those are some of the most important positions on the field. We’re deep and experienced, it will be fun to see. I would be shocked if we aren’t competitive with OSU next year

I think you're vastly underrating what another year of skill development, familiarity with scheme, strength training, and overall maturity will do for this team. Next season should be special.

I think we now have a big boy football program.

Big Boy Coach.

I don’t think I am. They’ve already been in the same schemes for 3-4 years. It’s not like our offense or defense were inexperienced this year. I think experience has diminishing returns

I’m also taking into account there were quite a few games this year we could have lost. So returning that same team is certainly better than having lot of holes to fill, but it’s still the same team. I don’t see anyone on our team having a monster year compared to this past season. A SR Altmyer/Jacas aren’t going to be much different if at all from their JR years

Any who after that "Drew Allar against real competition" masterclass can we start the campaign for Luke being the best QB in the B1G?

Ill only beat the dead horse once but its not a coincidence most of the game they took the ball out of his hand when they needed a play. Tyler Warren can only bail your out so much and Kotelnicki can only cover up so much hype.

Glad we have this cat.
