I’m not talking bad about him or being derogatory towards him as a person. Just disappointed and frustrated because we have momentum and than all of a sudden this happens. Sorry maybe I’m being too strong or it’s all those years of the program being in the dumps that I’m reacting that way. Will step back a bit and relax.
If Dre was the reason for all the momentum we have there are bigger problems to worry about in the program then.....luckily that isn't the case

yup
long term, losing Dre means NOTHING. it actually means nothing in about 8 weeks

when anyone here got their first job , or left their first job for their second one,
did it really matter how nice the head hunter was ?
or how attractive the in house HR gal was ?
or what the guy in HR was saying ?

NO
what only mattered was what your future boss or future co-workers were saying or were like

In my second job, I was 24, so I could have been influenced here. Not saying it would have been the right career move, just sayin'.

Good teams lose assistants...how does Campbell and Detroit feel...
So true. You want a reputation for developing staff in order to attract the best staff. Good people WILL move on when they’re ready, so position yourself to attract the very best replacements.

I once worked for a manager who insisted each of his direct reports have a goal to get one of our managers promoted to jobs outside his group each year. He wisely saw the value of a reputation as talent/career developers. You never want to be thought of as someone who holds back your best people, putting your interest ahead of theirs. It’s a virtuous cycle and a paradox. Helping people grow and move on attracts more great people. Bret is building that kind of program.

Thomann is the highest priority guy for me on the offensive line for the probable-to-commit (Fors, Thomann, Riordan, Balangayai) because he's the only guy that makes sense to play tackle.

Also, would love to know if the staff is able to become a serious player for any of the other tackle offers, like Gregory Patrick (West Michigan), Mboupa (Chicago), Pritchard (NJ).

The staff is in an excellent position for these remaining guys because they probably only have to take one more and feel really good about their line class. These four are also really heating up:

Fors: Picked up offers from Purdue, Iowa State, and Michigan State in the past two weeks.
Thomann: Got a Nebraska offer this week. Still perplexed he hasn't picked up more steam (still has a solid offer list but his ceiling is the highest on this list)
Riordan: Offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Louisville, Iowa State, and Virginia in the past two weeks. Recent 247 articles are making it seem like Iowa has taken the lead (might commit there soon)?
Balanganayi: Just got an offer from Michigan yesterday. Also picked up offers from Michigan State, Louisville, and Kansas State in the past 10 days.
