This guy could be the key to a number of ten win seasons. I haven't seen a running back like this since Mendenhall. Those who say "zero chance" don't know Bielema very well. Sic-em, Bret!!
The problem going against Texas schools for his recruitment is they can toss a ton of money, end of story type. Probably never ends with NIL, if he is successful at the school the number of $100 handshakes and other benefits are to the point that Illinois isn't competitive. Would love to land the home state RB, and have a lot of faith in Bielema, but when dealing with football athletes who aren't wealthy they need to cash in often and as high as they can. It is a brutal sport.

I think it's situational: they're probably done if there's no one gettable that excites them. OTOH, if a kid projects as an impact player and he seems obtainable, then go get him, pedal to the metal.

WRT this class, I think Cobbs is kind of a hybrid. there's probably room for another type of LB. we'll see. Williams seems to be very dialed into our program
Exactly - they won't turn down a difference maker & can be picky now

The kid is a top 10 player in his class.

As much as I’d love to see him at ILL……his family didn’t move to Texas for him to play better competition to then just come back to Illinois.

Are you sure this is why he moved to Texas? I thought there was quite a bit more to the story.

Which also would make it HIGHLY unlikely that he comes to ILL.

We don’t have the $$$ to compete with the top dogs.

I hope you’re well on your way to recovery. Stay strong, brother.
Thank you! Today's game was a real pick-me -up! I love it when the team follows up a 40+ loss with two 20 point wins. Getting Rez back will be a plus, but they're putting the hammer down at just the right moment. Need more from TGL but the rest are cookin'!

Sure helps my recovery!

Just got home today from Moffit Cancer Hospital (Tampa) after having a cancerous mass removed from my lung (never smoker.) Now I can concentrate on Big Ten tournament, March Madness, Football recruiting, and spring football. Go Illini!!
God bless you and I pray right now that the King of Glory- Jesus Himself- intercedes and quashes any further challenges from that mass.

Get well soon buddy.
