does anyone remember when we used to have a bad football program?
I can't believe I get to say that.
It’s time to start implementing a contingency plan. We are heavily dependent on Bielema and Whitman.

The contingency plan is for Bielema to keep winning, and for Whitman to keep the Athletic Dept in best possible shape financially, making capital improvements wherever possible, so that when either the HC or AD position every becomes available the job is as attractive as possible to potential replacements. Not sure what else you can do other than that.

At this point, there isn't an alternative. There are probably a handful of schools that have such a large brand that their coach or AD do not matter on still being at least really good.

Ohio State
Michigan
Texas
Alabama

That might be the list. You could even make an argument it's Ohio State and everyone else. Even a school like Georgia feels awfully dependent on Kirby.

That’s a given. I mean hiring young administrators and staff around them to build the future pipeline.

This might be true. I think it’s worth exploring how to stay loyal yet prepared for the inevitable day that one departs (retirement or otherwise).

I like this symbiotic relationship between administration and coach and want to preserve it, as we all do, in the future.

Good news that Michigan seems to be out. But the quotes on Nebraska and LSU seem to suggest that we are probably not the favorites here...

Any insider insights??
From Mundelein so could have been watching Illini on TV last year
Nebraska has not been impressive under Ruehle
LSU has underperformed under Kelly given his massive salary - 10-4, 10-4, 9-4
TAM was 8-5 last year

Illinois is on the rise.

That's a shocker, but also likely a good sign for Illinois. That quote about him not having money conversations with any of the problems: there's no need to say this stuff any more. Everyone knows you have financial discussions. It may not be the directly with the recruit, but the discussions are happening.

Okay, the O/O/W with the Script helmet is definitely the move for the next Orange Out game!
