I wanted Luke over the winter but now I'd lean on passing. If a second coaching staff looked at him and doesn't see a role for him on this decimated Purdue team, that is more signal than noise.

Purdue had another 14+ players already hit the transfer portal in the past few days. The only guy that's intriguing is Ty Hudkins (Safety) but I'm predicting he ends up at Northwestern.

Feagin is has played two 1/2 seasons. I would not be that he makes it thru season 3 without an injury. Love him as player -very similar to Mendenhall but just can't stay on the field.

Wasn't Faegins injury similar to what Bo Jackson suffered with Raiders? I'm not comfortable with any running back ripping muscles connected to the hip. I hope and pray he makes full recovery. We'd better have another back up plan in place. Depth, plus experience is huge in back field.

Not to be too critical, but to be fair.....the O Line was the "author" of that run. We were sitting in the opposite corner end zone, and you could see that hole open up like a barn door. Fortunately Josh hit it and took off. If he would have been Rocky Harvey he probably would have scored. I love Josh and appreciate all he did for the Illini program...also wish he would have closed his career as an Illini. But our RB room is in great shape and we will be fine.
Your comments brought back memories. My first football game in the stadium was band day circa 1963/1964. We were sitting in the horseshoe and Illinois was playing Purdue. Bob Griese may have been the Purdue QB. As the Illini lined up at approximately the 50, you could see from my vantage point that the was no middle linebacker in his normal spot. Mike T, the Illini QB, turned and handed off to Jim Grabowski up the middle and after he crossed the line of scrimmage there was no defender between him and the goal line. He sprinted untouched for a TD.

Isn't Williams a Redshirt Freshman? Our 2 deep at safety is currently Jr Sr Jr Jr, I know we have some young guys but we're heading for a cliff experience wise.
