Someone will give him the Dylan Rosiek treatment.

Too late young man. You’ve showed Illini nation your true character. No matter how good you are at the game of football, keeping that attitude/arrogance away from our locker room is appreciated.
We get to play against him. We'll get our chance to throw his hat around a lil bit. You can bet your @$$ our players will be looking for his number. Too late for apologies Yung buck! His uncle/dad are from Decatur so he ought to know better. And Winston is an Illini Alum. You bet there's sour grapes! This was probably cued up by the cocky head coach of Nebby. Whatever his name is.

Good luck, kid, but too late. You think people will replay the apology? Nope. The hat toss is what gets the story.
Exactly. He must have just realized he has to LIVE in the state of Illinois for the next 2 years. The apology is just damage control to TRY to limit the number of times he’s going to be called a punk (or worse) to his face in the next 2 years of his day-to-day life for his own foolishness.

Agree, this kid has been Mr. PR through the entire process and he disrespects the state school (and more importantly the coaches). The apology while a good step doesn't erase the action (unfortunately in the digital age that video will never go away). He knew exactly what he was doing, he wasn't overcome. He didn't calculate how folks outside of his inner circle wouldn't think it was funny and he was probably reminded of the NIL era and not burning bridges. The video was more about damage control rather than an apology. I'm more surprised by the coaches laughing along with him.

I'd love to understand from an insider if the pull of Nebraska is simply a $$ decision or if there is something else. I don't get how they vaulted over Illinois and Michigan.

Now apologize. The water is over the dam. The horse is out of the barn. Turn out the light the party is over.

Honestly, I could not care less about his apology. I love this University too much to forgive him or wish him well.

This brings to question the relationship BB has with Mount Carmel HS coach.

Out of curiosity, how many of you actually watched this live?
I would imagine very few, given we knew his was going to Nebraska. that’s why it will be easier to accept his apology and move on- if you didn’t watch it live he didn’t “fool” anyone, watching it in replay knowing he picked Nebraska is not nearly the same affect

The University, no. He didn't disrespect the school because these kids don't care about the actual institution like we do. It's sports to them, hard stop.

Now, he did disrespect the coaching staff who spent hours recruiting him. I suspect a conversation will happen there. He's a kid that got caught up in the moment pandering to the Nebraska fans.

He's 15. The kid probably doesn't have his driver's permit yet. Let it go. If that the worst thing that a 15 year old does in life, he'll have lives a damn good life.

The bigger issue is......why are we treating 15 year olds like they're kings and why are they committing anywhere?

Bingo and hard stop. That should be the one and only takeaway. The kid probably hasn't had hair on his sack for more than a couple of years and we have fans, grown men, wishing him Ill will.

Everyone needs to grow up.

Well, every recruitment for ten years for basketball was life or death for the program.

Right now there's no doubt in anyone's mind that we'll have a great QB. Some these stunts pretty much roll off our collective backs.
